From the Sony Studios, it's Escape to Puerto Rico week!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
ESCAPE TO PUERTO RICO
EPISODE #2689
The third-place total right now is $29,091 to get into the Friday Finals. No pressure, but both of the remaining bonus round prizes are around $24k, so it's probably going to take one of those to qualify.
Here are today's contestants!
Pilar Maiorana is from West Palm Beach, FL. She goes to school at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She's a senior studying business management, and she has no clue what she's going to do. She's a member of Alpha Delta Pi and USF Ambassadors.
Carmen Rogers is from Dallas, TX. She's a catering sales assistant at a five-star hotel, a part-time student, and a mother of one. She also sings at church and sings solos at weddings.
Brett Evans is from Auburn, WA. He's been married for six years to Peggy. He has two kids (Dylan & Kennedy). He works for one of the nation's largest pharmaceutical wholesalers. He collects sports memorabilia. He's a fan of the WORLD CHAMPION New York Yankees, and his prized possession is an autographed Don Mattingly ball.
Ah yes, Brett can't forget about famous horse/human duo MR. ED & WILBUR for $1,050. He even studders the "WILBUR", kind of like a horse, on purpose.
Round 2 adds the $10,000 and a trip via United Airlines to Austrailia, where they'll stay six nights at the SYDNEY Renaissance Hotel. It's a trip worth $4,000!
Carmen solves SONG LYRICS BY FRANCIS SCOTT KEY for $3,800 and the SYDNEY trip. She can win a couple more grand if she correctly identifies the song.
...and here's a tough ruling. She says "the national anthem", and Pat prompts her to be more specifc. She's just can't think of the title. THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER is what was needed.
Pat knew the actor of Wilbur earlier (Alan Young), but after the commercial, he finds out the voice actor for Mr. Ed was Alan Rocky Lane.
Whoever goes to the bonus round on Friday wins a dream vacation for two to Puerto Rico. The winner will stay at Las Casitas Village at the El Conquistador Resort. It's a bonus worth $15,000!
Brett is JUMPING IN WITH BOTH FEET into the lead, with $11,500, and this SURPRISE: a Coleman Horizon 411 Spa worth $8,499!
Pilar can enjoy a POPULATION EXPLOSION of cash, going from $0 to $1,100! Just in the nick of time also, since this game is over.
Unfortunately (in an odd sense), since he couldn't cash in on that last puzzle, he'll need to win one of these two prizes to come back tomorrow...
A regal performance sport boat worth over $24,000!
The Chevy Venture minivan worth over $23,000!

RSTLN E... gives one letter.
BMG I... that isn't a slam dunk, but Pat's got some good vibes about this.
Brett pops up thanks to his THUMB, and he'll be driving home in a new VENTURE MINIVAN! From Chevy, it's worth $23,979!
His wife, Peggy, and his dad, Ken, run down and hug him. Brett has got $45,028 in cash and prizes, and he'll be back tomorrow for even more!
Pat Chat: Pat mentions that sometimes, there are weeks where no wins, while we're 4-for-4 in bonus rounds this week. Can we get a clean sweep? (or as Pat flubs, a queen sweep?)
