From the Sony Pictures Studio, it's America's Game!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
AROUND THE WORLD
EPISODE #3089
Here are today's contestants!
Tara Moore Fernandes is from Middletown, CT, but is originally from Arkansas. She's on her doctorate in counseling psychology. She's been married for a year and seven months to Michael. She's training for the New York Marathon this year.
Charles Butler is from Los Angeles, CA. He has a fine baritone voice, and sings in three choirs at church. He's married to Patricia, his son Leighton is in his second year at Tennessee State University, Nashville, and his daughter, Kim Delane, is married, and she has three daughters (11-year-old twins Denice? and Nicole, and 7-year-old Brianna). He has a passion for playing Scrabble. After all that, he says that he's a parts procurement specialist for Caltrans (California Department of Transportation)
Lisa Harris is from Pendleton, OR. She's married and has four children. She wants to run, and she likes socks, "almost like a fetish", and almost has a hundred. She's wearing giraffe socks right now.
Charles finds a HEALTH FOOD STORE for $1,500. To triple that, can he solve this Puzzler?
Charles says nothing, and can't recognize the health food SPROUTS.
Round 2 adds a BIG SCREEN: it's a Zenith 60-inth television worth $2,750!
Tara solves A STUDENT OR IT'S PART OF THE EYE for the TV and $2,500. Can she get another $2,000 by solving the clue?
She's right with PUPIL!
Along with the Jackpot, Round 3 adds a trip to ST. CROIX! At the Annapolis sailing school, a lucky contestant might enjoy a week-long hands-on course on a private yacht. This excursion is worth $6,480!
*Charles grabs the wheel after Lisa went BANKRUPT!. I wish the game worked that way.
$3,350 might be enough for Tara to buy tickets to see MOUNT OLYMPUS IN GREECE.
Round 4 starts immediately as a Speed-Up. Vowels are worth nothing, but consonants... $5,000 ┬!
Tara: R (DUD!)
Charles: T ($5,000)
Lisa: N (x2 - $10,000 | OPENING NIGHT OUT)
Tara: N (Duplicate!)
Charles: G (x2 - $15,000)
Lisa: H ($15,000 | OPENING NIGHT OWL, OPENING NIGHT...)
Tara: P (DUD!)
Charles: L ($20,000 | OPENING NIGHT OWL)
Lisa: P (Duplicate!)
Tara: C (DUD!)
Charles: G (Duplicate!)
Lisa: M (DUD!)
Tara: K (DUD!)
Charles: D (x2 - $30,000)
This was such a messy round, but $30,000 later, I'm pretty sure WEDDING NIGHT OWL Charles isn't complaining!
W H E E L
Charles tries grabbing the letter W itself instead of the envelope, partially because Pat said to "pick one of the four remaining letters".
RSTLN E gives two letters in the first word.
CBG A... does nothing. Charles tries LOUT-FALL, LOOK-OUT, LANT-FILL, and LET-, but he just can't get LIFT-OFF for the LAND ROVER. Although he screams in agony, he still has $31,500 in cash!
Pat Chat: Pat says they keep talking at the end of the show, so this time, Pat and Vanna are letting us talk to them, and they'll listen
