Season 40 and CWOF Season 3 Taping and Airing Schedule

Just a quick heads up: We're doing some reorganization, and now this thread is in Tonight on WOF instead of Buying Your Time.

CWOF #307, Kate Flannery/Steve Agee/Austin Creed, airs October 30. Not clear yet if this will be Halloween-themed like last year.

CWOF ended up having two taping sessions on October 6 after all. Despite this, there are still two sessions listed for October 7 and 13, suggesting we may get a 14th episode thanks to that "bonus episode" airing we got at the end of September.

#PT-310 has a tentative air date of January 8. 309 will air December 11, and this is likely set in stone, because the episode promotes a movie that comes out later that week. 

I have heard that from the getgo there were a few planned throughout the season but the next one wasn’t supposed to be until early in 2023, but looks like the plans have changed…makes sense for sweeps.

New ABC listings show that CWOF will not air on November 20 or December 25, the latter presumably due to NBA. The new batch of listings only go up to January 1, which would total 14 airings of CWOF counting 9/29. Since one episode has a tentative air date of January 8, there will probably be some reruns in the mix, but for Celebrity Jeopardy!, January 1 would be their 13th and final episode as long as there are no reruns in between, which don't really work unless maybe they rerun the semifinals. I'm sure ABC will want both shows to wrap the same day, as CWOF Season 2 and Supermarket Sweep did.

^ The Futon Critic has placeholder listings on 11/27 and 12/18 for both shows. If CJ! isn't airing those days, it's probably safe to say CWOF won't, either. Plus, those dates are in line with days in Season 2 where CWOF did not air, either. Besides the AMA's, CWOF did not air the weekend after that in November 2021 due to a Disney holiday special, and it did not air on 12/19/21 due to the annual airing of The Sound of Music, which is probably the case on 12/18/22 as well.

#PT-313 will be holiday-themed, likely airing December 18.

A CWOF holiday special will air Tuesday, December 6 at 8 PM ET/PT, along with special episodes of Press Your Luck and $100K Pyramid. The celebs on Wheel are Jack Black, Kal Penn, and Sasheer Zamata. tvline.com/lists/abc-holiday-episodes-abbott-elementary-home-economics-rookie-feds/

This could once again mean Season 3 will have more than 13 episodes. Tris was at the tapings of 309 and 310 on 10/6. For 10/7, someone at one of the tapings posted all three celebs on Twitter (R/GK/JB, order unconfirmed), and one celeb from the other taping that day posted pictures on their social media (they are all stars of another show on ABC). That left only one trio unconfirmed, and from what I have been hearing, it is another "synergy" matchup that ABC and Sony want to be very hush-hush about and even I only know two of the three; I am not even going to post the initials because it would be too obvious. That's all I'll say. So either the rumors about the latter were false, or we're getting at least 14 episodes instead of the promised 13.

Someone on Instagram posted a video of a studio tour which included the Wheel set on Wednesday (November 2nd). The Denver 2006 log cabin set was being used! Likely this was Weekend Getaways which airs the week of December 19th and I assume the next days taping was Winter Hideaway which will air the week of January 2nd.
