I had to look up "LOW TALKER". Apparently a semi-phrase originated from Seinfeld. I would have not put such a PHRASE (from a sitcom many, but not everyone, has seen) into a Wheel puzzle.

I never would've gotten "low talker" in the Crossword. I should've been able to get the Round 1 puzzle quickly, but it took me about half of the puzzle to figure it out.

At least I "no-puzzled" the third Triple Toss-Up. A uniquely impressive main game considering that the top-dollar was never hit.

I got the bonus puzzle with RSTLNE. Did this really have to happen during a Teacher's week?

But that was just one moment. Still a great show.

This one was undeniably the hardest of the million puzzles we’ve seen so far, nobody is getting that even if you call H, F, or O. This was set up to have someone call the usual trap letters with WAYD? with A/I, G.

I guess my biggest thing with this puzzle is that it’s awfully hard for a third week BR, it’s such a drastic uptick in difficulty from yesterday which was a real cakewalk. Considering Phrase was an option today and yesterday, I have to wonder if it wasn’t chosen yesterday if it would’ve shifted over to today. Say what you will about Harry/Mike but the BRs day-to-day were consistent in difficulty, it just feels all over the map right now. We’re 0-2 with the 100/Million and it’s not even October, that’s probably a record.

I have to wonder what the state of the budget is and how much of it was allocated towards the new puzzleboard and XL stuff which is why we’ve seen tougher BRs than usual in these first few weeks. Definitely makes you think about what the rest of the season has in store.

Ugh, just ugh at the bonus round result. Twelve shows in and we have a $100,000 loss and a million dollar loss already. Nontheless, Alane did very well tonight.

They’re going to beat this whole (Animal Sound) LIKE A (Animal) thing into the ground these next few years. Look out for BARKING LIKE A DOG in S41.

Yeah. I liked that the first 3 million hits were all wins. Then we haven't had a million win on the syndicated version for 8 years. The bonus puzzles are usually easier at the start of the season. And I know S40 has already has a million and a $100k loss.

Well, that was a show.

R1: Richard spinning a lot kept me on my toes, and I was really glad that he called the D’s on his last spin. Great $15K round for him.

R2: I did get the incomplete word, but I’ve never heard of it before.

TTU: I admittedly thought the second one was PRACTICAL.

BR: It didn’t come to me immediately, but I had it off the RSTLNE. Not an easy one (I still believe OCEAN KAYAKING is leagues harder), but I feel like this could be solved if you picked H and O.

I had the loss spoiled for me (I watched via YT), but that still hurt to watch.

The fact that they were only a year apart heavily suggests there will be more roughly once a year.

They could also drop the ING and make it a Phrase which they have done many times, and still do.

Looking back at past $1M Bonus Rounds, I think this is about midrange in terms of what it's been lost to. OCEAN KAYAKING is probably the toughest, though I remember BAKED ZUCCHINI also being a hard one. I don't think it's easy, I didn't have it at all, but I think you can get it if you call the H and O (definitely with the W like some have picked this season).

That being said, I do think it's funny that, as Wayo said, they tried to get the million hit on premiere week, but we hit it on a totally regular night without any other gimmicks. Probability is weird like that.

Surprised that we had that R1 for a few reasons, but at least they had a nice big payday wholesaling that puzzle. I was surprised at how pressed we were for time given how short everything after R1 was, but maybe that's Red taking his time. Though, the highlight has to be him trying to grab $3500 instead of the wild card, he was ready to pick that number up.

Never realized how much this applied to more than a simple want.

I feel terrible for Alane losing the $1 million prize. 😔 I saw this outcome implied on social media, but it was a bummer to watch. It’s a tricky puzzle, but I solved it with RSTLNE. Like Tris said, the H and O may have given her a shot. Aside from that…

I enjoyed watching Alane, and the Express wedge was a real game-changer for her. Richard took a big gamble in R1 and it paid off handsomely! I’m glad Chaunté came on strong later in the game since she barely had a chance to play.

By the way, I no-lettered the first two words of R1 (thanks to the colon), SMOOTH in the Crossword puzzle, and the first three words of the PP.

My rating: 5
