One major thing I'm not a fan of on the wheel layout for season 30 and 31 is the $500 spaces. There are a bit too many of them (6 for S30 and 7 for S31) on the wheel! I think this is what led the $300-$450 spaces to their retirement on season 32, which is disappointing to me. The S17-S27 layouts are fine enough, but what's the point of having more $500s on the wheel? To be fair, I do not know.
In an attempt to set this aside, I made these layouts that show how I think the season 30 and 31 wheels should've been.
First things first. To keep things simple, I included the yellow $850 from season 39 because I thought it would be a nice addition to the wheel. Also there are three $500 spaces on the wheel just like in season 26-28. Another thing to note is that the values of the $400 (yellow) and $450 (pink) spaces have had their values swapped because I think three adjacent $x50s would look awkward.
Round 1
One 1/2 Car tag is over the pink $500 while the other one is on the green $750. As a result, the gift tag moves to the blue $350.
The top value for this round is decreased to $3,000.
Round 3
For this round and subsequent rounds after it, the Free Play wedge is not available, and is replaced by the yellow $850 space in its place. This is similar to the Free Spin token before September 2007 where it is limited to the first two rounds.
S30 version
Round 4+
Three spaces have their values increased to four-digit values. The pink $900 becomes a $1,500 space, the purple $350 is now $1,000, and the blue $300 is valued at $2,000.
