This wraps up the Secret Santa for today, I thought it was a-okay.

Mindi had a big Prize Puzzle round, which definitely made up for some lost ground.

But she wiped out in the end game and that's a total shame.

This recapper will be back tomorrow and will hopefully not bring so much sorrow.

Odd ending to Round 1. I can understand a correct ruling when you add something to the beginning (almost like starting over), but I wish they'd be consistent with solves.

I thought SMOOTH PEANUT BUTTER would be a Triple Toss-Up, but nope. Still, a $10,000 triple is always fun.

Finally, I got the bonus puzzle with RSTLNE. I heard the F, and I was hoping for something good from that. Not quite there.

Also..."scientific purposes".

Before Mindi could've solved it correctly, she could've called the F or an H for extra money. Mindi did great tonight, as well as her trip winner in Prize Puzzle. And also Corinne's Triple Toss-up sweep.

I was surprised that they accepted the Crossword solve when she added Peppermint before the words in the puzzle. I'd be curious to know how long it took to decide whether or not to accept her solve.

Derwin had a great voice and I thought that word was COFFEE also.

I was stumped on the bonus puzzle too, that was tough to come up with just the RE at the end of HARE.

The women did a nice job tonight, with Mindi’s big PP and Corinne’s Triple Toss-Up sweep. It would’ve been even better had Derwin won the cruise in R1. However, I also thought _O__EE was COFFEE. I liked his voice.

Speaking of that round… yeah, I’m really surprised they accepted Corinne’s addition of the Crossword clue.

I solved the BR with RSTLNE, and as Mindi said herself, the F and H were the way to go.

Corrine's solve attempt in R1 was pretty odd, but I think they approved it because she didn't say anything in between the first and last word.

Speaking about her, she did a fine job, actually both ladies fared well. Derwin, however, might have had a shot at winning if he chose T instead of C in the crossword (but then again, I thought it was COFFEE as well).

BR: I had either MARE or the right answer before the extra letters were chosen. I know there is an audience wrangler who says that LIVING THING is his second least-favorite category (behind THING obviously), but I would've also chosen that category as well.

Oh, and the placeholder puzzles will return on December 21...don't want the poems to mesh in the way of that.
