To put it mildly, 2022 has been an interesting year for the WOF franchise. We got a new executive producer, began the show’s 40th season, launched a live tour, gave away the $100k three nights in a row, and found some feathers in weird places. Were there any favorite moments of the year? Or anything you’re looking forward to or hopeful for in the year to come?

I think the obvious highlight for Wheel in 2022 was the three consecutive $100,000 wins, along with the record for most $100,000 wins in a season. Besides what you mentioned, it was also nice to have Veterans Week back this season and Disney back as the sponsor for Secret Santa week, and the XL weeks were a nice way to celebrate the 40th season.
On the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune side, Snoop Dogg, Jack Black, and Fortune Feimster were the best contestants to watch. Just too bad the bonus round win-loss record has been so poor this season.
Wishes for 2023- More bonus round wins on both the regular show and CWOF, a successful WWE and Teen Week, and a million dollar winner!

Wishes for 2023 (and beyond) would be return of remote road trips and team weeks. I would love to see Wheel come to New York City again. I would love see Best Friends Week (my favorite team week) return.

I hope that Bellamie can start hitting her creative stride next season- I want to see what she can bring to the show once she gets the hang of things. I liked XL week a lot. I hope there can be more variety in prizes and four digit wedges in due time.

Wishes for 2023 (and beyond) would be return of remote road trips and team weeks. I would love to see Wheel come to New York City again. I would love see Best Friends Week (my favorite team week) return. I'll even be happy for a road show in San Diego or Vegas at this point; there's always a special ambience to the crowds given that the seating capacity is often in the thousands, creating emotional moments for big wins, painful penalties, and even simply having Pat & Vanna appear at the outset. At least 2022 brought more non-California contestants compared to 2020-21, and even those GAC weeks would be something that I would like to see again. With a Sweethearts Week coming up bring the return to the team weeks, it will be interesting to see how much they'll have to edit/rush with the extra interviews given that they haven't done a three-round format since the late '90s when it was a road show. We've got another XL week coming up as well, and the first solo Teen Week since before I was a teen! I'd like to see a new category, perhaps "TEEN TALK" or even "COUPLES/PARTNERS" as a more inclusive "HUSBAND & WIFE". That said, I feel like CWOF may be running its course, and although Celebrity Jeopardy! is still in its first season, seems to be much more entertaining to watch. It's never been the same after MJH won the million, and it showed last Wednesday when I chose TPIR over it, even if the TPIR episode was mediocre. But here's to another great year for this Wheel Watcher of over 35 years!
