This week's "Inside Jeopardy" podcast included a mention about possibly revisiting the show's "one and done" rule to allow contestants to come back to play again some time after they are defeated, or allowing Teen and College tournament participants to be eligible to play in regular play later on. So this made me wonder, would you want Wheel to change its eligibility rules to allow contestants to come on again after a certain amount of time? Personally, I'd agree with letting contestants who only won the minimum come back after a certain amount of years (whether it's 10 years like Price is Right contestants or a lesser amount of time).

Wheel should have had a "10 years" rule years ago. This is going to make them look really bad if even Jeopardy! is going to add this rule, and Wheel will be left as the only game show that won't allow contestants to play again for any reason other than a successful appeal. Literally every other major game show has either returning champions, redemption specials, allows contestants from past incarnations of the same show, or allows contestants to try again after 10 years. It was just plain illogical that Jeopardy! did a redemption special before Wheel, and them having a "10 years" rule that presumably even applies to long-running champions while Wheel won't even let the kids from Wheel 2000 play the real thing is even more illogical.
And before anyone thinks I'm trying to say "omg bellamie please pick me to play again!", I really don't care if I can never play again, but Wheel (Pat?) needs to stop being so uptight about the concept. At least they allow celebrities from the syndie celeb weeks of yesteryear to appear on CWOF, and apparently we may be seeing the two CWOF/WWE alums returning for the upcoming WWE Week. There was also the "million dollar winners rematch" planned in the late Friedman era that never came to fruition only because Michelle Lowenstein declined.

I agree big time. Wheel's casting seems to be getting desperate for contestants at this point. When you spend a season and a half only picking people from a 300 mile radius and never allow anyone to return ever, the longer you're on the harder it's going to be to find eligible contestants.
On a related side note, if you're thinking about applying for the show DO IT!! RIGHT NOW!!!
I was recently through the audition process and had I not had to turn it down, the time between my first contact with them and my tape date would've been 17 days. Less than three weeks from zoom call to spinning. They need people. And bad. Allowing returning players will make that a little easier. I'd love to see some contestants from the 80s and 90s return. Hell do it as a gimmick for a week. Some of the Greats! Some of the Losers! Anything.
