So, I've been in the process of digitizing and logging my (mix of taped and acquired) copies of season 12, a few fruits of which will turn up when Adam gets to season 12
The history wiki says Harry was announced on June 14th...except as near as I can find, that's a solid three months later than he actually started:
First noticed something was amiss with that timing as Harry was shown in the B-roll of the Alaska trip used during Alaskan Cruise Week, a trip taken weeks earlier (Harry, then sporting a mustache, specifically appears in the intro of S-2335).
When did that cruise and Alaska trip happen for the Red White and Blue contest winners and show staff? It left dock on May 7, 1995. (Accommodating a May cruise for a contest that happened in Fall 1994 also probably explains this season's extra in-season extra reruns)
Enter an Arizona contestant search, written up in the Arizona Republic on March 23, 1995 - and once again, Harry is already credited as the show's producer. The earliest such reference. Harry was definitely running the show for at least the last several weeks of season 12, and I'd be fascinated to know exactly when that changeover happens. The March date also pops up again during a syndicated article appearing in a lot of larger papers in Fall 1995 about the season's changes
Nancy was definitely still boss during the Disney tapings (aired through 3/3), she even makes a brief cameo during one of the many nightmare Megaword playings, giving a thumbs up to a sketchy application of the word "bombastic" (Aired 3/1/95). By the end of that calendar month, Harry was in charge.
I'd love to know when that changeover actually occurred if anyone has further info, and when Harry's first shows actually happened. (Honestly, the Megaword decision from her last appearance is so questionable that I wonder if it set the chain of events into motion)
