Stats: $100K+ wins air less often on Fridays

Randomly decided to break down the number of $100K+ Bonus Round win episodes (syndie only) by the day of the week they aired, and noticed that they happen far less often on Friday episodes. We also know of at least two instances of wins originally scheduled to air on Friday, but were swapped to air earlier in the week. This is likely because Friday episodes tend to have the lowest ratings since people are often out or doing more "fun" things than watching TV on a Friday night at 7:00 PM. The frequent Friday pre-emptions in the Boston market (currently ranked #10) may also be a factor. Basically, if you have to miss the show on Friday, you generally don't have to worry about missing a big win.

Total $100K+ win episodes by day of the week (as of 1/21/23):

Monday: 14
Tuesday: 13
Wednesday: 13
Thursday: 11
Friday: 5

This does not count any instances where an affiliate intentionally aired an episode on a different day than other markets to make up for a pre-emption. For example, one of the $100K wins from S38 that officially aired on a Monday was aired the following Friday on KABC in Los Angeles. That does not count here.
