In the final segment, Pat notices that Vanna has very expressive hands! She does a lot of pointing, she can hula, she can hitchhike...or she can just wave goodbye.

Almost a sweep, and it could've easily been that for Mike.

At first I said TREASURE CHEST for the third Triple Toss-up, but I got it when the T appeared in the second word.

I actually thought HANDS before Mike's picks were revealed, but it took me until after his picks to solve the puzzle. I can easily relate to Pat's comments about waving after washing when I'm on the road for 8 hours.

It's been a while since the last unthemed week so the set looked a bit weird without decor.

Great job by Mike, one TTU solve away from a full sweep. He was really quick with the Toss-Up solves too.

I guess Brandie thought the last word in round 1 was BLUES. Too bad for Brandie on the Crossword, if only she called the S before solving. With the first two rounds and then Treasure THING, it just wasn't her night.

I solved the bonus puzzle after his letters, but I could see WAVING being tough to come up with just the N showing. Maybe he solves it if he called the A for his vowel.

Mike did an okay job this night, but I have the feeling that he won only because there was an incompetent player right next to him.

BR: Well, if it’s unthemed, then a cheap-o car sounds appropriate for the week (it’s not meant to be budget-busting at all). I got it off the RSTLNE.

The only real highlights of this episode were Mike’s personality and near-sweep. Oh, and Ebony breaking through in the Triple Toss-Up; she impressed me there. But man, as stated, it just wasn’t Brandie’s night. 😔

I solved the first two puzzles with just the two first letters and no-lettered the first three words of Round 3. Perhaps the A’s would’ve helped Mike narrow down the first word of the Bonus Puzzle.

My rating: 5
