From the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, it's America's game!
Today's contestants (all male):
Roger Wickinden (returning with a 2-day total of $87,546)
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. We are playing for cash, and here's our first puzzle:
Roger solves A RAMBLIN' WRECK FROM GEORGIA TECH for the shopping spree.
It's going to take more than just a $3,500 spin for Joe to surprise Roger, but it would be a good start.
Roger solves UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
DING DING! DING DING!
And we expect he's going to solve this puzzle after Pat gives the Wheel a Final Spin. Consonants are worth... $250 a piece.
Roger: Z (x2) ($15,550+)
Perfection! Roger solves WORN TO A FRAZZLE and retires with a main game sweep!
BONUS ROUND:
RSTLNE gives him:
CDMA can at least fill in the ends.

Perfection! Roger solves ALASKA BECOMES FORTY-NINTH STATE.
You hear the beeps? Roger can win a $1,000 bonus if he answers a special question associated with the puzzle!
What is the capital of Alaska?
Roger has no guess. Pat gives the answer of Juneau...but he doesn't steal the $1,000 for it.
Roger | Paul | Joe |
$3,500 |
He's not stealing this prize from the Wheel, either. One of our contestants will pick up and win a shopping spree at Pier 39 festival marketplace (labeled SHOPPING) worth $1,500.
Even if Roger got the bonus, Paul could still surpass him with a $2,500 spin. He'll start this round!

BONUS ROUND:
Roger is in disbelief that he's already at $125,920 in cash and prizes! And he hasn't even played a third Bonus Round yet! We still have a boat and the $25,000!
We could only afford two E's on the final day of the week, and Roger will take the second one. Time to reach for the top with this puzzle!

THING |
He's silent, and no main game sweep. He does not solve DRIFTWOOD. Instead of the "time's up" buzzer, the "wrong letter" buzzer sounds...
...but no matter the sound, he couldn't finish with a $25,000 prize. There's nothing to be down about, as Roger's leaving with $125,920 in cash and prizes!
In the post-game chat, Pat plugs a special week coming next week. They have teen weeks, college weeks, and "butchers with thinning hair" week.
During the credits, Charlie announces that "winnings over $125,000 will be donated to the charity of the contestant's choice".
