Truly the end of an era. I still haven't been able to confirm whether this is a temporary move while TVC is renovated. It will be interesting to see if the show decides to replicate the Bob Barker Studio with the sunken audience section and Contestants' Row, or if the showrunners decide it's time for a new look altogether. I have a feeling that full audiences will return next season.

It's just a temporary situation. All of CBS shows will return to Television City Studios after the renovation.

It's just a temporary situation. All of CBS shows will return to Television City Studios after the renovation. The move is not temporary, Television City is being renovated into an apartment complex. The renovation plans call for the facility to have about 20-25 modern soundstages upon completion, so the show theoretically could move back once they're done. However, since CBS no longer has any stake in the facility, and the development firm that owns it currently is pouring over a billion dollars into the place, the rent won't be cheap. Fremantle has a stake in the new facility; the show is there for the long term. |
