From Hollywood, It's America's game! Wheeeeeel Of Fortune!
Today's contestants:
Doreen Mercer (returning with a total of $107,509)
Matt Phillips: Senior at Northwestern College studying to be an accountant, from St. Paul, MN
Amy Lance: Has been a Miss North Dakota in 1994, and is currently a student at University of North Dakota studying international business and public relations; from Fargo
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. We are playing for cash, and here's our first puzzle:
Perfection! Doreen solves WHAT GIVES.
Double perfection! Matt solves THE BIG BAND ERA to keep the watches.
Miss North Dakota finally has a chance to become Miss Wheel of Fortune! The Big Money Era really begins with the $3,500 space and the $10,000 prize.
Doreen solves WAFFLE BATTER UP.
Doreen's ready for another home run with the $5,000 space! Much like she won't let go of the Wheel, she won't let go of a nearly $10,000 NECKLACE, either.
Matt solves TROPICAL RAIN FOREST.
Matt solves SOAP BUBBLES.
Even that couldn't slow us down too much, because we're playing a sixth round!
Amy can make it interesting just before Pat has to give the Wheel a Final Spin. Consonants are worth... $250 a piece.
Doreen: T (DUD!)
Matt blurts out BLADES, FLAKES, and then GLOVES. To his shock, the last guess is correct!
BONUS ROUND:
RSTLNE gives her:

Matt would know something's wrong if he couldn't see a $2,500 space anywhere right now.

The mystery is whether Amy would've been able to solve the puzzle herself. It never got back to her, and now she's leaving with the nice parting gifts.
BONUS ROUND:
Even with her current $113,559 in cash and prizes, this would be a great way for Doreen to finish! All we have left is the $25,000!
Only two more things for her to do: take the middle E envelope, and solve this puzzle.

In the post-game chat, Pat asks if Vanna is sick of the Vegas thing, still thinking about Regis and Kathie Lee. She's actually finding it very interesting. Kathie Lee and Vanna both sing, while Pat and Regis both became managed to get to the top of their professions despite having no discernible abilities. Pat tried impressions and ventriloquism, and now he'll try to sing!
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To watch an unbearable television program
-okay, that's all we can take.
