From Hollywood, It's America's game! Wheeeeeel Of Fortune!
Today's contestants:
Cookie Lino: E.R. receptionist in a major hospital, from Honolulu, HI
Lisa Rovner (returning with a 1-day total of $56,199)
Michael Storm: Film major at Boston University, from Newton, MA
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. We are playing for cash, and here's our first puzzle:
Cookie solves DOING ODD JOBS AROUND THE HOUSE.
Some people do odd things on the show. After saving his token, Michael had better make it count with a $3,500 spin, though it could also give him an extra shot at the $10,000 prize.
Remember to wash your hands before touching the Wheel again so that we keep the $5,000 space sparkling clean. We wonder if the gods would want someone to win a trip to MEXICO.
Michael solves I'LL BE THE JUDGE OF THAT for the sewing machine.
BONUS ROUND:
Johnson Matthey gold and silver bars ($30,000)
Watches (over $24,000)
RSTLNE gives him:
DPCA only lights up a vowel.

Pat jokes that his real name is the same as the red contestant.

Michael solves SOPHISTICATED. Not too much damage in this round, and the only thing left is for Michael to score $500 by using the word in a sentence.
He says "If I was in high society, I would be sophisticated." And we would be proud to give him the bonus.

$3,000 |
Always a pleasure to get the Megaword out of the way early. Now for something you'll like a lot more than that: a New Home Memory Craft 8000 sewing machine (labeled SEW) worth $3,000.
Lisa got the wrong letter out of the way early. Better to happen before she lands on the $2,500 space and not immediately after.

CLUE |
Michael solves THE FOOD OF THE GODS. After all that, he can still bite into a $500 bonus if he answers the clue.
His guess of ice cream makes the audience laugh. "Like on weekends, maybe." How about Cookie?
It sounded like she said "mana", but it's incorrect. Does Lisa know?
How about wine? Well, this one's a triple stumper. The clue is about ambrosia. "We also would've accepted 'The Colonel's Extra Crispy'."

Pat: See, if you don't put this here first, then we have to write up a report and send it into management, and there's a lot of meetings, and things like that.
We've decided that's enough spinning.
Cookie | Lisa | Michael |
$1,900 | $7,150 |
Another one-day wonder, Lisa leaves with her $56,199 from the last show.
BONUS ROUND:
We'll be reporting that one of our bonus prizes has disappeared...but only because Michael won it. Said prize could be any of these:
West Indies trip (almost $16,000)Johnson Matthey gold and silver bars ($30,000)
Watches (over $24,000)
Pat: Do you know, if you win the next two nights and scream and yell, jump up and down, and perhaps rip off my jacket and punch me and throw me down, you might end up on our show when we do "Some of the Greats! Part 2" down the line.
One of our envelopes will also have to disappear, and Michael's choice is the L. Let's make it three wins in a row for the middle of the week!

He's silent until near the end, when he says ROLLERINK, ROLLER, and RUBBER. He does not solve RIVERBANK...
...so he remains separated from the precious metals package. Michael finishes with $7,150 in cash and prizes, but this is only one day. He might have two more!
In the post-game chat, Pat goes back to his discussion about getting a little older. He doesn't read as well unless he has an extension on his arms. Vanna is bothered by her skin changing when she gets older. It starts to...droop a little more. But really, there's nothing wrong with getting old, and Charlie agrees.
