From the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in Norfolk, It's America's game! Wheeeeeel Of Fortune!
Today's contestants:
Kevin Copping: Just graduated from William & Mary with a German and government double major, and is planning on getting a teaching English as a foreign language certificate; from Williamsburg
Kyle Phillips (returning with a 1-day total of $11,000)
Karen Wilburn: Psychologist with Virginia Beach schools and teaches part time
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. We are playing for cash, and here's our first puzzle:
Kyle solves PROFESSOR HENRY HIGGINS & ELIZA DOOLITTLE.
Karen solves MARSHMALLOWS. Why not throw them in some hot chocolate since it's so cold out?
We would say that things are heating up, but that would be cruel to everyone on this cold carrier. What would be nice is to put a $3,500 space and a $10,000 prize on the Wheel.
Kyle solves REFRIGERATE AFTER OPENING. You could use a fridge to warm things up in this weather!
The thought of leaving empty-handed sends shivers down Kevin's spine, though with a $5,000 space, he could be the one to pour cold water on Kyle. With all this cold talk, we could use a trip to HAWAII.
DING DING! DING DING!
We can't take any more of this weather! We must push Pat to give the Wheel a Final Spin, and consonants will be worth... $500 a piece.
Karen: Y (x2) ($2,550)
Kevin: B (x3) ($1,800+) (He tried to spin first.)
Kevin solves BUBBLY PERSONALITY. More like "bubbubbily". But he does get the cash and the dining package.
BONUS ROUND:
RSTLNE gives him:
MCDO should actually work this time.

And it's still breezy on the carrier. To make things more difficult, it's also getting cold.

It would've been much better to introduce the $2,500 space for the last puzzle than this one.

BONUS ROUND:
Kyle's jealous that he couldn't add the $1 to his current $21,750 in cash. He shouldn't be, because he can win something better like a Camaro, twin Yamahas, a van, or the $25,000.
One more day with some now-frozen envelopes (but not frozen shut), and Kyle will pick the H. We warm up those trilons one last time...

In the post-game chat, Pat and Vanna invite City of Norfolk Director of Development Bob Smithwick on the carrier. What does Bob have? It's a pair of keys to the city, one each for Pat and Vanna, on behalf of everyone in the city and the Navy! Someone else brings Bob a proclamation that claims today as Wheel of Fortune day in Norfolk.
