Wheel was spotlighted in episode 2. People interviewed included Vanna, Bob Goen, S28 alum Caitlin Burke, and primetime alum Loni Love. Pat was not interviewed specifically for this, but I believe some archive footage of him was used, as was footage of Merv.
Notably, while the segment did talk about Wheel coming about as a replacement to a cancelled Jeopardy!, and spoke of Pat and Vanna's separate hirings after the show had already started, Chuck and Susan were not mentioned at all, nor were they shown or heard in any footage. Footage of the KILL THE VAMPIRE episode from 1976 was shown (with the 2004 GSN bug from when they aired it in 2007), and a bit of one of the Edd Byrnes pilots was also shown, very noticeably cropped to remove the timecode that appears on the circulating copy.
Since Wheel's segment was right after TPIR's, they of course segued into it with clips of Vanna's appearance, where she, of course, said exactly what she always says: "I didn't win a doggone thing."
All footage, not just of Wheel, was taken directly from YouTube, with GSN logos blurred out in some, but not all instances. Some TPIR footage had the Plinko chip logo from the Barker Era streaming channel.

I understand not going in-depth into the pre-Pat-&-Vanna era, but they straight up presented the story as "Merv creates Wheel, hires Pat & Vanna". That was... odd. And while I've found this series to be quite entertaining, the VHS-quality rips from YouTube with the GSN/BUZZR/Barker Era logos blurred out (or just left in, in some cases) are very distracting. Especially given that the video quality of every other portion of the series is beautiful from the interviews to the animated segment bumpers. Were they so strapped for time or money they couldn't get some original clips from these shows?

then again, given how they also went the same route for clips of the syndicated version in their Who Wants to be a Millionaire retrospective around the time the Kimmel reboot was ramping up the hype, I'd not be surprised at this point

The Wheel portion of the episode showing clips from Pat's and Vanna's first episodes (Vanna's first permanent episode) made me wonder, is Pat's first episode available in full and could potentially be watched? I know Vanna's was part of the marathon GSN did in tribute to Merv after he died and is on Youtube.

I know Vanna's was part of the marathon GSN did in tribute to Merv after he died and is on Youtube. David Downs had it on his YouTube channel under the guise “Fan Favorites”, which he used to post episodes of Sony game shows without receiving copyright strikes. Unfortunately, the video was deleted after his channel went under entirely a few years after his passing.
