From Hollywood, It's America's game! This is Teen Week!
Today's contestants (all male):
David Biggar: At Centennial High School in the tennis program and marching band, also studying Japanese to be different from Spanish and French; from Glendale, AZ
John Morgan: At DeSoto High School in Texas, and he's the "big cheese" class president, also editor of the yearbook and sports editor of the newspaper, and he has a full-time job
Derek Frenzel: Junior at Garden Grove High School in California, on the track and cross country team, and he looks forward to becoming an English or history teacher when he's older
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. We are playing for cash, and here's our first puzzle:
David solves THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.
David solves MY DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK. Pat asks if he ever used that excuse...and he has. Honestly. Well, the dog didn't actually eat it, but he used the excuse.
We won't allow any dogs to chew up our $3,500 space or $10,000 prize before we can put them on the Wheel. With the Friday Finals coming, at least two of our players are gonna need 'em!
John solves BASEBALL DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING.
That wedding can wait at least a few more years. It'll also be expensive, so hit that ball out of the park with a $5,000 spin while you're here. You might even escape from our studio in a big way with a BAHAMAS trip!
Perfection! David solves STRAWBERRY POP-TARTS. Just in time for the toaster to pop.
Derek will need some pop-tarts first, just to comfort him after he was unfortunate enough to end up with the nice parting gifts.
BONUS ROUND:
RSTLNE gives him...

The top three winners so far have won at least $30,000 this week, so these three have their work cut out for them.

John won't have any spare time to be a prize copy editor for our show, will he? It'd be fun to write about prizes like an Encyclopedia Britannica 32-volume library with Insight 486SX desktop computer (labeled STUDY) worth $2,724.
If he can't earn the extra money from that, he can still benefit from the $2,500 space we've just added to our Wheel.

Family vacation in Kona, Hawaii (over $19,000)
College annuity ($20,000)
1995 Acura Integra (over $19,000)
Even without the $25,000 prize, David will have enough to win regardless of what's in his envelope, the H. Just solve this puzzle:

See how easy it is? He instantly solves BACKPACK...
...and he's jumping for joy thanks to the college annuity from Thomas Group worth $20,000! David finishes with $37,700, and he qualifies for the Friday Finals!
In the post-game chat, Pat has to wipe off his shoulder. Four $30K+ winners on Friday, and a lot won this week, so Pat asks producer Harry Friedman if they have the budget for it. He's formerly from the Mork & Mindy show...or what it Mike & Matty, Mork & Matty, Mike & Morky? We cut to Harry, who can only laugh at what he just heard from Pat.
