A good star wars show! There is special sound effects. And a $100K win! The second $100K win of Season 40. I was worried Season 40 would only have 1 $100K win. But we got two! The last season with only one $100K win was Season 36. And, Seasons 34 and 35 also had only one. Season 37 had none.

It started out quiet, but it ended strong! I no-lettered the $1,000 Toss-Up but not Round 1 (though I still got the latter puzzle quickly.)

While Jeff thought CLASSIC MOVIE for the first Triple Toss-Up, I thought CLASSIC COVER, which I guess could be something.

I had the first word to the bonus puzzle immediately, but I needed the A's for the second word. Finally, we get another $100,000 win!

Glad we got another $100K win in before the end of the season! Didn't think we'd get one. Shame FOX stations didn't get to see it.

Am I in the minority in thinking that this would have been better as an ABC primetime miniseries, given how "promotional" and niche it is? I get having just regular Disney weeks as syndie but this would have been perfect game show filler, given how much ABC loves doing limited primetime J! events and promoting all the latest Disney stuff. Use civilians as usual and play either one game with the CWOF format or two completely separate games. Perhaps if this wasn't produced before the writers' strike, this might have happened. Also, regardless of how it aired, not sure why they didn't schedule it for the week of May 4.

I tend to agree on that, but they probably wanted XL IV to anchor sweeps and save this for after sweeps were over given that HSN / HSN+ week already had a sweepstakes and they didn’t want to do two back-to-back. Airing this on the regular show is in the same vein of logic as doing the WWE tournament despite having a dedicated celebrity series.

Kinda surprised we barely got into R4 before calling for a speed-up even with the quick solves in TU1 and R1. I guess that’s what happens when the episode is crammed with sponsor plugs and R2-3 took longer than intended.

Anybody else remember the last time we had that as a BR about a decade ago? Pretty sure it was the same setup post 3C1V, and it was horrendously choked for $50k. Very happy with how this one turned out!

Also really enjoyed this show from an audience standpoint. I’m not as picky about audience reactions as others (although I will admit it has severely declined in the last 10-15 years but what else on the show hasn’t), but they were VERY much into the game. Even on simple things as missing the prize wedge as much as one spike on the wheel. I’d imagine all of the other contestants for this week were in the audience rooting the others on, but they were really heightened the enthusiasm and turned it into one of the best shows of the season.

Been looking forward to Star Wars week since it was first announced, and this was a very good show tonight. The graphics were very nice, but I think it would've been nice if they themed the set a little more. The close with Pat and Vanna in "lightsaber school" was fun though.

Toss Up #1 and the first puzzle were very easy no letter or 1-2 letter solves. That said, I was a little surprised they were solved as quickly as they were.

I loved Jeff's contestant intro story and he lucked into the Prize Puzzle win after the bad M call from Annie. The bonus puzzle was pretty much a lock to be solved with the A picked as the vowel. Thank goodness we have at least two $100,000 wins this season! Hopefully we keep the winning going this week!

After a personal message update, it sounds like I will be doing four days of recaps this week.

I supposed I deserve the extra load now...because after this season ends, I'll have to step down as first-run recapper. I'm expecting to move again, and unlike before, I will no longer have any way to access syndicated Wheel.

Since I'm still watching, I might as well enjoy the last few moments while I can! I don't know if we'll be able to top what happened tonight, but I've still got my fingers crossed that something good will happen in the last 9 shows.

Although there's no question that Star Wars is a fantastic franchise, I'll admit that it just isn't one of my things. In fact, I didn't get the first Toss-Up and Round 1 puzzles as quickly as Annie did, but her quick solves showed how much of a fan of Star Wars she is. Even so, I managed to get the second Toss-Up quite quickly despite the fact that I don't drink coffee. I also got Round 2 very quickly. Before & After is one of my favorite categories because once I get one part, the other usually isn't all that hard to figure out. As for Jeff, he proved to be quite the late bloomer in a big way. As soon as he chose the A in the Bonus Round, I figured he was going to get the puzzle because I managed to get it with RSTLNE, albeit with some thinking.

Congrats to all three contestants. Very nice to have a $100,000 Bonus Round win on Memorial Day. Hopefully we can keep this up for the rest of this big week.

Fox has the rights solely to WWE SmackDown. Raw airs on USA Network while WrestleMania, like all WWE pay-per-views, streams on Peacock, both of which are owned by Comcast.

Also, both WWE week and this week have civilian contestants, so airing it on a celebrity series is inappropriate. There's nothing wrong with having a week outside of the norm from time to time...if you don't like it, watch something else. Wheel needed the freshening up; I'm glad it's finally getting it.

I don't really enjoy the Wheel episodes as much that feel like one big commercial plug, but it was nice to see $100,000 actually line up with an easier bonus puzzle for once (especially since there haven't been many easier puzzles this month!

Already, this is a much more interesting week than last week.

TU1 and R1 were easy no-letter solves for the big Star Wars fanatics. Most of the game wasn’t that interesting, but I enjoyed all of the effort put into this galactic-themed week. The audience was also really into it as well!

BR: Yep, it’s that same puzzle that a contestant named Sarah choked on 9 years ago. Thankfully that didn’t happen as Jeff takes in some Big Money!

Ah, the start of a galactic adventure. The set looks amazing, and it’s cool to see the contestants wave their lightsabers and Jim in a Darth Vader mask. And as mentioned, the audience was hyped.

This holiday episode began modestly, but it ended with a big bang thanks to Jeff’s $100K win! I wasn’t expecting another confetti drop late into the season, but better late than never. 👏🏾

I knew the answer to Round 1 before it showed up (of course), and I almost no-lettered the first Toss-Up.
