Thomas Stang: Sartell, MN. He does obstacle course stuff (when he tried to stay active after sports all ended, he found he didn’t particularly enjoy running on the streets so he decided to run through some mud and obstacles) and lived a year outside the US (he survived 30 cold winters in his home state and in the last 2-3 years he and his fiancé traveled to Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, and here at Sony).
Tamarah Danzy: Tulsa, OK. 8th grade science teacher (a lot of people say she’s crazy because she teaches middle school but she absolutely loves teaching science and middle school) who gives a shoutout to her union family; they’re currently studying biology.

In terms to the puzzle quality in the last few seasons (and I will be stepping down after this season...more on that later), THEY FIZZLED OUT. Thomas fizzles out saying FLAMED, FUELED and FLIPPED, so no $40,000.

Why’d we go so heavy on the Margaritaville theme tonight for a 6th? Not sure why this needed the extra moniker on the center stage screen given that the set was obvious to even the most casual of viewers. What’s even more baffling is that they didn’t add a moniker for Tuesday’s college show in spite of the fall college week having one.

This is one of my bigger gripes with Wheel this season; inconsistency in the small stuff that overall hurts the product more than you’d think.

That BR isn’t as bad for modern Wheel standards as others would think. We have had far, FAR worse.

Great to see a Mystery win when they're challenged with a Crossword round. It's just too easy to call a wrong letter in those.

My mom thought the middle school teacher was fun for cheering everyone else on. "Once a middle school teacher, always a middle school teacher."

I don't think I've ever pulled an "11-second solve" on a bonus puzzle before. I got it, but I was just a little slow.

So yes, I also will be stepping down after this season. It’s been a fun ride, but I honestly just feel fizzled out after covering dozens of episodes with the same dull tone and the excitement from years past just not being there. I will still be available as a substitute recapper, but I don’t think I can keep doing this weekly.

I’ve also picked up another hobby that’s quickly taking over this show in terms of how much it occupies me.

If this was my final episode, then I’m glad to cover one more Mystery win. Otherwise, that bonus puzzle sums up my experience with the latter half of this season (as I didn’t bother to comment on quite a few episodes).

Boy, did we witness another tight match, this one between Thomas and Tamarah.

It’s bummer the latter lost by less than a grand, but it was nice seeing Thomas flip the right Mystery wedge. He got dealt a tough hand in the Bonus Round; I thought the F would give him a decent shot at it.

Oh, and Renee was fun to watch.

As soon as I heard the category of Round 1, I just knew it was a Jimmy Buffett line. And I no-lettered Round 4.
