The $100,000 shows up whenever the bonus puzzle has the word HANGOUT. On 4/4/2019 OUR FAVORITE HANGOUT was not solved for $100K. On 10/12/2020 MY FAVORITE HANGOUT was solved for $100K. And today OUR USUAL HANGOUT was not solved for $100K. And, today was also the 6 year anniversary of the second $1,000,000 loss.

That one was a give-me. An A might have been a little more helpful, but that should’ve been solved.

I know that the contestants from this episode may be members of the boards but to be frank, the whole episode was so wrong in many things.

Starting off with R1 - WAYD?, I notice that since the S41 premiere, contestants didn't start off by calling the N or G and I've been shaking my head all the time whenever one of those two letters were not called first. It's rare to have a puzzle that does not end with -ING, but come on, call either the N or the G first before calling anything else. Even if it's not up there, I could say this was not the day to call for that. I really hope that future contestants can learn from this whenever WAYD? comes up in the main game).

R2 was ok.

R3 was the main cause because of several reasons. Firstly, the prize value of the PP will determine which team has a higher chance of going to the BR (I mean a higher chance because there's still a possibility that a $10K TTU and/or a $6K FS may happen). I was worried that another $18K+ trip may "kill" the entire game. Secondly, the U call made by the Yellow team at the start of the game made me scratching my head. I assumed that they were thinking the first word could be "PUTTING" but calling a U that early didn't make sense, IMO. Thirdly, when the Red team called a W, I thought they might solve the puzzle after that but no. Was calling a W a some sort of guess? Also, the R should've been called when they landed on $3,500. Oh well, what could I say for that? Were they "helping to save money for the show" or because of the tense atmosphere in the studio?

The moment RSTLNE showed up in the BR puzzle. My first response was the solution and the next response was "$100K?" because of that word that will appear in the BR every season. Things turned out fine when the H was called until it headed south when the next two consonants and the vowel were called. I sighed as I was watching that. Contestants (including us watching the show) often struggled when the word begins with a vowel but sadly, in that situation, that cannot be a valid reason because what other words could you make with the S in the second and L at the back? It should've been a giveaway. Unfortunately, another $100K saved, another unpleasant surprise for Pat's final season.

Looking at the trend, this season may go head-to-head against S26 and S28 in terms of the $100K appearances. Maybe we shall see the season's first $100K win in 2024 (I'm that evil), based on what we've seen over the last two seasons. A lesson to be learnt.

^ Yeah. I'm afraid we are going back to Season 35. It seems like every win is $40,000 or a lesser car. Last Friday was also the 6 year anniversary of a $100,000 loss. And last Friday also had a $100,000 loss. And both were during Veterans Week too. As I said, this was the 6 year anniversary of the second million dollar loss. So it's ironic that $100,000 was lost 6 years later. Also, the $100,000 loss on 1/5/2018 also had the word HANGOUT. A $75,000 win would be nice too. If the player has at least $25,000 in the maingame they could win $100,000 without hitting it. The $75,000 made winning $100,000 "the hard way" easier.
