Starting December 4. A promo began airing today. This is not yet reflected in listings. Wheel will air weeknights at 9:00 PM ET/PT, replacing at least Switch.
The promo features six episodes from Season 36, all of which were available on Netflix and are currently on Pluto TV. In order of appearance: 6846, 6830, 6858, 6855, 6853, 6826.
As with the last lease, there will be two episodes per weekday, at 9:00 and 9:30 PM.
This lease only appears to include at least the episodes from the Netflix packages. Yet to be seen if it will include the episodes that are on Pluto but were not on Netflix.

WOF is back in GSN. It's been 4 years! And Season 36! It would've been nice to get the full Season 30, or Season 32, or Season 33. But I still think Season 36 was a great season. Even know there were lots of big losses and BR losing streaks. It had the 7,000th show. Does the GSN shows start with the Season 36 premiere? I wonder if there are any S36 shows GSN will not air. If so, they might replace them with S35 shows just like they did with the banned S31 shows replaced with S30 shows.

^ They are indeed starting with the S36 premiere. However, the lease only includes at least the episodes that were previously leased to Netflix, and possibly the ones on Pluto TV.
They are going in order within those episodes, so after Teacher's Week finishes on Wednesday, it skips ahead to Shopping Spree week. And some weeks, including Spa Getaway and Great Outdoors, only have one or two episodes in this package.

^ Oh. There's not many episodes in this lease though. The 2016-19 Season 30 & 31 lease was a full 195 episodes. I wonder if there will be Season 37 too.

Sure enough, these are the exact same prints from Netflix, right down to the closed captioning, which Netflix modified from the originals on all of their episodes to match their standards (Pluto, for the most part, kept the captions as-is on modern eps that weren't previously on Netflix). As with streaming and much of GSN's acquired programming, the footage is deinterlaced to 30 FPS.
In other words, doesn't seem like we're missing out on anything versus watching on Pluto TV, but it's still great to see Wheel back on GSN, or airing anywhere on linear TV besides once a day in syndication, at all.
Here's a promo that aired shortly before Wheel's comeback:
This lease only appears to include at least the episodes from the Netflix packages. Yet to be seen if it will include the episodes that are on Pluto but were not on Netflix.
It does indeed include the Pluto-exclusive episodes. The first two weeks cover 6826-6874. S36's only $100K win was 6875 which is due to air 12/18 at 9:00.
It might not include Thanksgiving eps 6877-79, though, since those were only just released a month ago. If the rotation is only S36, that gives GSN 69 episodes if Thanksgiving is included, or 66 otherwise.

I watched the first two Season 36 shows on GSN. It feels weird seeing the pre-COVID podiums, Free Play, Half Car, Gift Tag, $3,000 Toss Up, Pat doing the final spin, and $36,000 again. It also feels weird seeing the yellow $600. Later Season 36 episodes have the yellow $900 for all rounds. It's nice to hear the 2017-21 music again. Just like it was nice to hear the 2007-16 music in the Season 31 episodes. Just like the Season 31 episodes, the Mystery plug is cut. The "closed-captioning is brought to you by the following" is cut as well. And, promos are shown during the credits too. In the second show of Season 36, the newsletter promo between the Bonus Round and the closing chat was kept. I remember the Season 36 premiere but not the second episode of Season 36. So it's nice to see the second episode of Season 36 again. It really does feel good to have GSN Wheel back. That was the reason why I watched GSN. And I like the new time. 9 PM is better than the 12 PM slot. Since I wasn't always able to watch it at 12 PM. And I don't have Netflix.

So the Pluto TV episodes are included as well! It will only take about 7 weeks to air all 69 of them. It would be nice if there was another New Year's Day marathon of Wheel just like New Year's Day 2018. And, Thanksgiving could air outside of Thanksgiving just like they did before. They used to air the Halloween, Secret Santa, Home For The Holidays, New Year's, Valentine's, Mother's Day, and Father's Day on the appropriate times. Then in 2018, GSN started airing it whenever. New Year's in May, and Christmas in July.

They're probably not "banned" as in "can never air anywhere ever again". Whenever GSN acquired a season, they would almost-always skip a few episodes here and there, mostly for reasons we couldn't figure out.
GSN skipped six episodes when they aired S31 and substituted them with the last six episodes of S30: 11/4/13, 3/10/14, 3/11/14, 3/12/14, 3/13/14, and 3/14/14. The latter five were all part of Beaches Resorts Family Week, but it didn't seem to be a clearance issue with the sponsor, because two other weeks from that season that were sponsored by Sandals Resorts, Beaches' parent company, still aired, and Beaches' sixth episode (which also had family teams) aired as well.

That's interesting. I guess this is one we may never figure out.

Yeah. I wondered why those 6 S31 episodes were skipped. We might never know. It was too bad that those episodes were skipped. On the 11/4/2013 show had Pat joking about the Halloween set not taken down. And they aired Halloween week itself. It was still nice to see those last Season 30 shows though. Since one of them had the final Jackpot win, and one episode had a $100k win. That allowed for two $100K win episodes to air for that lease. Since S31 only had one $100K win. 9/17/2013 and 4/11/2014 should've been skipped too. I noticed some DOND episodes were skipped on GSN due to copyrights. And, it is nice to see 4 WOF episodes air on Wednesdays. Regular syndicated episodes at 7 PM for me, CWOF at 9 PM, and GSN Wheel at 9 PM too. But I watch CWOF instead of GSN Wheel since CWOF is a new episode.

The Thanksgiving episodes are not included in GSN's rotation. The week of 12/18-22 is 6875, 6906-10, and 6926-29.
Assuming they keep airing two episodes per weekday with no interruptions for holiday marathons, the last available S36 episode, 7010, should air Wednesday, January 17 at 9:30, with the rotation either looping back to 6826 or advancing to 7021 from S37 on Thursday, January 18.
As with streaming and much of GSN's acquired programming, the footage is deinterlaced to 30 FPS.
#S-6866 and 6867 (S36 E41-42, 11/5-6/18), the first of the Pluto-only episodes, aired on GSN tonight and they were in 60 FPS, so perhaps all of these eps will be in 60.
Also something of note: #S-6841 (S36 E16, 10/1/18) does not suffer from "credit crunching" when it airs on GSN, due to the gag at the very end where Pat slowly walks up to the camera.
I actually thought I would point something out. GSN has aired WOF on and off since it first launched in December 1994. However, I'm pretty sure this is the first time they've ever put it on at night. I'm pretty sure it has always been on during the day. It would be nice if it had a daytime airing as well, especially since on Wednesdays it competes with Celebrity WOF on ABC.

Yeah. The S31 episodes were every weekday at 12:00 and 12:30 PM. Also, a $100K loss was shown tonight. This lease has more $100K loss episodes than the last lease. The S31 lease only had one $100K loss and 2 $100K wins. One of the $100K wins was from one of the S30 episodes. There will be one $100K win on Monday as Mario said. There are three $100K losses in this lease.

I remember hearing that there used to be restrictions on when GSN could air Wheel and Jeopardy! in order to protect the daily sydicated airings and prevent overexposure. Specifically, it seemed like the window between 3 PM and 1 AM Eastern was off limits. Marathons of either show would generally cut off at 3 PM, and they even avoided airing full episodes of either show when they did the 50 Greatest Game Shows special.
But I guess now that the show has a 24/7 Pluto channel, along with prime time spinoffs, there's no point in such restrictions. Perhaps the departure of Harry Friedman and/or other management changes at Sony led to all this. Now if only they'd add a "daytime" rerun feed of Wheel in syndication to go with the J! one.
Yeah. The S31 episodes were every weekday at 12:00 and 12:30 PM.
Actually, they were at 11:00 and 11:30 AM in when they started in October 2016. Then about a month later, Wheel had four episodes a day from 11-1. In April 2017, Wheel was reduced back to two episodes a day and at 12:00 and 12:30.
