Also, there was another $100,000 loss that happened on this date in 2017. GSN also reran a S35 episode with a $100,000 loss today.

They did literally everything you could with champagne in round 5!

Ugh, another $100,000 loss. Seems like that's been happening quite a bit this season. I guessed Video for the 3rd word but Posting didn't come to me.

It's good to see Adam holding the MDW until the end of the main game. Sadly, it wasn't carried to the BR.

History repeated itself in R5. Back then, we had mis-solves on STOVE, HORSE... This time, it's CHAMPAGNE. Frankly speaking, when Brooke got the word CHAMPAGNE, I was surprised that she would get that quickly. However, if Adam and Samantha had found out about what to do with the CHAMPAGNE, the puzzle could've been solved earlier.

How I wished Brooke would choose another category in the BR. WAYD? appeared as a Speed-Up Round puzzle. Brooke didn't solve it even though she's the winner, and she chose WAYD? for her BR. At that point, I sensed something would go wrong in the BR and it happened.

I noticed that whenever a winning contestant chose a BR category that appeared during the main game but that puzzle ended up being solved by another contestant, the BR would not turn out well most of the time. Worst, the grand prize was hit and not won. One example was S40 Teacher's Week where one contestant didn't solve a WAYD? puzzle in the Speed-Up and chose WAYD? in the BR. I believe most of us know the ending. I'm not saying that a winning contestant cannot choose a category which he/she did not solve earlier. At least, have a few seconds to think through. If he/she decides to try that category again, all I can hope that the redemption would be a successful one.

At first, I wanted to say this season's National Park would be an improvement as compared to S39 thanks to earlier $100K win. With that $100K loss, this theme week has now dropped to a rating of just 'so-so'.

I dare not to look at the overall statistics because the number of $100K hits this season is too high

Adam and Brooke had great rounds pre-Triple Toss-Up.

Of course, I’d catch up on Wheel after a vacation just like Brooke. I probably would’ve spun a bit more if I were Samantha.

But things started going downhill in the Final Spin, and Brooke’s huge loss only added to the damper.
