I think it's a little too early to make an S42 schedule thread in Tonight on WOF..., and since this is big news as a new era of WOF comes in, might as well post it here. The first several tapings for Season 42 with Ryan Seacrest are confirmed via the WOF ticket information hotline. Tapings through August 2024 are as follows: - Tuesday, May 21
- Thursday, June 6
- Friday, June 7
- Monday, June 10
- Thursday, July 25
- Friday, July 26
- Wednesday, August 14
- Thursday, August 15
- Wednesday, August 28
- Thursday, August 29

They are taping Season 42 early in May! Last time they taped in May was Season 32. They did two tapings of "pre-season" episodes in May 2014 because of the Hawaii tapings.

I guess they're spacing out tapings like this to accommodate with Ryan's schedule? Very interesting to see them starting so early.

Possible also that they are doing these seemingly early tapings due to the potential for another strike at the end of July (as was discussed on the Price is Right forums)? Particularly since, unlike other shows, it would be more difficult to fill in any gaps with more reruns due to the change of hosts - this way, they'd have at least a few weeks worth of shows done before any such potential strike could impact them, to give them a bit of time to play with if needed later on. Maybe even bumping some of those now scheduled for August dates back into either later June or earlier July, if they see talks are not going well as the dates get closer (with that large gap between 6/10 and 7/25)? |

^That's true, I forgot about the potential strike upcoming. So it makes sense they would start taping for next season early and get as many in as they can before the strike would start and they could move August scheduled tapings up to July. And yes, Wheel would have a little tougher situation with reruns given the host change.
