[/div] Can you hear this sound? It accompanied million of watchers. It's the most longeve program in TV history and it's known in over 60 countries all over the world. Have you guessed what program it's all about? No? Then... buy yourselves a vowel!
100 years after the birth of Mike Bongiorno, Mediaset pays him hommage with a new edition of Wheel of Fortune, which returns spinning on Canale 5 from Monday May 6th.

interesting that they're using the modern version of Changing Keys rather than another redo of Gira La Ruota for this one

interesting that they're using the modern version of Changing Keys rather than another redo of Gira La Ruota for this one That's what happens when formats are bought and just put into production as they are. I suppose all that purple on the set was just imposed by the format holders (it's an unpopular color in italian showbiz)

So, the wheel configuration looks like this:
BANKRUPT 400 250 500 100 350 LOSE A TURN 200 450 150 300 (weird color) 200 BANKRUPT 500 250 400 150 300 LOSE A TURN 450 100 350 200 5000 (probably for last round only)
Assuming a first round top value of €1000, the total is €6600 For comparison, the 2009 Papi version's was €4300 (€5300 with inflation) and the 1995 Mike version's was €4900 (€8200 with inflation)

I'm not picking the top euro value to be 5000 unless it's Oreo-styled. The regular top values are probably going to be more along the lines of 750, 1000, 1500, and/or 2000. To say that they'll use 2500 would be rather daring.

And the post itself also reveals the premiere date: Monday, May 6.
Edit: Actually, the first promo gives that date, too. I didn't notice it until now.

Wow. I do not recall any version using a regular wedge with a euro value that high. The highest I recall is 2000 on France's version from the Victoria Silvstedt era.

I don't know if it's to be trusted, but the Wheel page on the network's official site has some info: There are five "regular" rounds and five "fast rounds" (toss-ups) Rounds three and four feature "mystery" and "express" wedges There are bonus prizes on the wheel (like the prize tokens on the UK wheel) Curiously, it aknowledges the Odeon TV 1987 "pirate" edition - Mediaset never did it before. Perhaps they just copied from Wikipedia

Cute, aren't they? I've read that tomorrow, during an afternoon show, a "preview" round will be played by celebrities: singer Orietta Berti, Silvia Toffanin (hostess of the afternoon show) and songwriter Cristiano Malgioglio

I love the way they have the logo spin around. it's really elegant and makes a lot more sense in the British version which tries to copy our intro but forgot that it really only works if there are previous seems to put there otherwise it is an empty tunnel. (like I said our version is nice but more for an anniversary) still did I just never notice that feature in the graphic because it is definitely the same logo without the extra scene.
