As you know, we're in the final month of sister show Jeopardy's 40th Season, with July 26 being the finale. Most of this season was tournament competition, and I found Second Chance & Champions Wild Card very tedious and boring. But the ToC was memorable, as was the inaugural Jeopardy Invitational. And we've had our fair share of 5+ time champions when regular play resumed, including 15-time super-champion Adriana Harmeyer. With the season about to wrap up, I decided to suggest what changes ought to be in store for Season 41. First, here are the known changes: - The new season will revert to starting with regular competition
- No tournament competition until January 2025 when the "postseason" tournaments air (perhaps we'll see someone's initial run and ToC appearance occur in the same season)
- The "postseason" won't have nearly as large a contestant pool as was the case earlier this season.
- I think we'll probably get a new title card again because Jeopardy has been changing its logo every season (except Season 39) since the sushi bar set debuted in 1996.
Now, here are more changes I'd like to see for next season: - An entirely new set; we're long overdue for one. The current set actually dates back to Season 30, even with the recent modifications.
- New theme & think music. We had a music change in Season 38, but it's just an updated version of the theme we've had since Season 25; and the Think! cue was carried over from the 2008 package. I think either there should be a completely different arrangement of both the main theme & a new Think! cue, or there ought to be a modern rendition of the pre-2008 arrangements (particularly since Wheel brought back "Changing Keys", Jeopardy! also ought to go back to its musical roots)
- Bring back the Teen Tournament, Teachers Tournament, and College Championship (albeit rotate some of these tournaments). Assuming Masters Season 3 is held in May, they ought to hold the College Championship in April and then then Teen Tournament (or Teachers Tournament) in June.
- In addition, revert the tournaments back to the 15-player 10 game format with wild cards, culminating in a two-day total point affair for the finals.
- Finals in Jeopardy Masters should be changed to the first-to-win-three format
- Get rid of Second Chance & Champions Wildcard, or have them be 2 weeks apiece maximum.

Now, it would be nostalgic if the show got a new set and it had a 9-foot Jeopardy! logo (the set for the German version has this feature as well as a metal grid backdrop). More nostalgia would be if they also revived the set background color changing from blue to red for Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy!, as well as popping in the dollar figures on the Double Jeopardy! board (even if they continue with the current sound instead of bringing back the old beep-boops from the first 24 seasons). |

Get rid of Jennings, to start. What's wrong with him? He's a great host who truly loves the game. Which is more than I can say for a certain showrunner/TV personality who tried shoehorning himself into the hosting succession back in 2021... |

hmmm…. since Wheel of Fortune is possibly getting a new set I wonder if Jeopardy will be getting a new set who knows

I know this is less than a week before the next season but here are some things I am thinking. . they are likely to test the radio games again . no one in the tournament of champions will have won more than 22 games. (I chose this number because I was going slightly higher than 20) . there will likely be at least one big shock but less than three. I know people in J bored just want regular Jeopardy badly. and I think we might just get it somewhat. (minus the main tournaments and masters) o and one more thing . someone that James does not know previous (as of first Masters appearance) Will be chosen in all the new slots. granted I feel like I should think of a few more usually I have 6 to 10 but probably has to do with how this season went. [/div] [/quote] ]I personally prefer the wild card thus shrunken rather than the college tournament or even the teachers tournament. I always found those completely pointless since they could just try out for the regular show. The teen tournament at least had some thing going for for people who are actually not eligible for the main show. also the college tournament has just turned to ultra Ivy League,which I am not against people who go to them it's just something I do not wanna watch for multiple games straight where 95 present are. I feel the tournaments except premium player ones just distract from the Jeopardy format. it is not to say I disliked every moment of every tournament I watched but it is just not what I prefer. |

They already announced before that there would be no additional tournaments in the 2024 calendar year.

Considering the known set changes for the Pop Culture revival, among them the return of the large letters, I would not be surprised if some of these carry over to the main series when filming resumes this month.

No big letters on the main show set. The updated floor and seamless board from PCJ! get carried over, and possibly some playing around with the general color palette. ![]()  |

I just listened to today's Inside Jeopardy podcast. They said they started taping shows with a new set today; and the episodes will air beginning October 14.
