I just hope Pat will win an Emmy for Outstanding Game Show host one last time since he retired from hosting nighttime, syndicated Wheel. He has a Lifetime Achievement Emmy in 2011 along with the late Alex Trebek and won three previous Emmy Awards for Best Game Show Host in 1993, 1997 and 1999.

We already know Jeopardy!'s getting best game show since it's the Emmys equivalent of SpongeBob always winning favorite cartoon at the Kids Choice Awards.
Since Pat's still hosting one more season of CWOF, I guess that makes him eligible next year as well, but I still don't have my hopes up for him winning. The Academy just doesn't like Wheel (it wasn't even nominated at all for the last several years of the Friedman era), and people don't like Pat. If he couldn't win even when nominated twice with no competition from J! hosts, he really doesn't have a great shot.

Somewhat related to what you said, but funnily enough, the show could still submit Pat’s last syndicated episode for NEXT YEAR’S EMMYS. With the episode’s airdate of June 7, it falls outside the eligibility window for this year.
I’m not exactly sure what J! submitted the year that Alex passed, but TPIR submitted the S35 premiere with the monster DSW the year Barker retired. Given the previous window of the full calendar year, it’s likely J! chose to submit one of Alex’s last shows. Not sure something like GOAT was eligible for the game show category, but they definitely would’ve submitted if they were able to.
For this year, I’d say Wheel most likely submitted S-8000, or anything from big money week for that matter. However, it is rather close to the end of the eligibility window. Maybe they submitted the show with Liz?

I’m not exactly sure what J! submitted the year that Alex passed, but TPIR submitted the S35 premiere with the monster DSW the year Barker retired. Given the usual June 1-May 31 window, it’s likely J! chose to submit Alex’s last show. Wheel's been bad at submitting episodes these last few years, which doesn't help its losing streak. Instead of choosing eps with the biggest wins, they seem to be choosing mostly random episodes that may have like one notable moment not necessarily related to gameplay. I agree #S-8000 is the best choice. So, if I'm understanding the rules correctly, and knowing that the two versions of Wheel are considered different entities, does this mean Wheel could have three nominations in the host category next year? One for Ryan, one for Pat on CWOF, and one for Pat's final week of the syndicated show? Will Ryan be eligible next year?

Ryan would be eligible for host and Pat’s last episode could be submitted for outstanding show, but I’m not entirely sure about Pat being submitted for host in either case.
I’m not up on what the requirements are for nomination are following the shift of the major game show categories to the Primetime Emmys, but under the Daytime Emmys, any host who appeared in at least 19% of total episodes for the calendar year was eligible. This explains why Pat received the second nomination in 2022 for CWOF as neither Mayim or Ken were eligible, given that the awards were based off the previous full calendar year.
However, given that Keke Palmer has been nominated for Password in both years since the realignment for the game show categories, I suppose it’s possible that Pat could receive a nomination next year.

So if those rules are the same, then both Ryan and Pat should be able to be nominated for the syndicated show next year. Assuming Season 42 starts September 9, Wheel will have 197 new episodes in the 2024 calendar year (115 from S41 with Pat, and 82 from S42 with Ryan, which is about 42%).
And we know any future eps of CWOF that air in 2024 will be hosted by Pat. Though it is worth noting that only two new episodes of Season 4 aired in 2024, and there are at most nine Mondays from October 7-December 30 that do not have Monday Night Football on ABC. Compare that to the 2021 calendar year, where 17 new episodes of CWOF aired (all eight from Season 1 and the first nine of Season 2).

9821 cleared some of this up for me with info from the Emmys website.
Regarding outstanding show, any series with a minimum of 6 episodes produced or a special of any kind is eligible for submission. For shows with multiple versions, only one submission is allowed to represent the entire body of work.
There’s not much info regarding outstanding host other than trying to separate it from reality shows. However, as I eluded to, given that Keke Palmer has been nominated both times since the categories shifted to Primetime and Password airs ~10 episodes per season, then Pat can be nominated for (C)WOF.
