A conclusion to the first week of the new season with Ryan as the new host.

Regarding tonight's game, the TTU was an eye-opener to me. Is this the first time seeing KOBE BEEF and BELUGA CAVIAR as solutions on the puzzleboard? Looks like the show has already entered into a new era. By the way, those two could also be the solutions to the BR.

Ryan kept pointing at the puzzleboard during the recap of how much each contestant won after the Speed-Up Round. Are those numbers displayed on the puzzleboard?

I thought the BR was going to be solved. However, I already knew the spoilers way ahead of time (thanks to my itchy finger), so I was curious to see what happened. Picked an A as a vowel but didn't say the word A while guessing the puzzle? That's surprising. I agree that we should have had at least three BR wins this week. I RST(LG)NE-d Monday - Wednesday BR puzzles. Thursday was the toughest but I managed to get it after the contestant picked the letters.

The bonus letter G appeared in every BR puzzle this week, but it turned out not to be helpful to 80% of the contestants after all.

Overall, the new set looks nice, but I have to blink my eyes a few times when Ryan and Vanna entered the stage from the doors with the fireworks on the screen. The fireworks were too glaring, in my opinion. In addition, after getting used to seeing the contestants on top and the puzzleboard at the bottom for many years, it takes time to adapt to the reverse during the TUs and the Speed-Up Round.

Ryan did well during the first-aired week. Hearing him repeating the category of the puzzle while the game was playing and no cue cards when interviewing and during the gameplay. What a change! Now, I'm more interested to see how he did during the first-taped week which will take place months later.

I noticed the change to the closing credits. The font looks small (like CWOF) and the way the credits run is like what you see on Jeopardy! All short credits this week. Let's see how the closing credits transform in this new era

I guess crosswords are not retired. (edit -for those unfamiliar and this is a comment to someone else's comment the day before ) I would have liked them retired as well. that Hometown trip was a nice surprise.




to be fair he did know it was "package" so he did see the a but I feel it should have been solved as well. (I did not solve it but I am terrible, very terrible at this wheel even though I love watching it)



was his first game the first game he did, considering he did the speech.

on the special about wheel that was on red carpet last weekend they showed that the used leather board along with the list of contestant winning is right next to the letterboard. (looks like one of those screens that some of the fancy bowling alleys have) lg definitely was expecting more winners I could imagine. my best bet was that they were looking to make 'Clickbait' (not the fake ones) of a cool moment that their logo would be underneath in the given letters.

I sometimes have to give myself a second or two to remember this is not a foreign version. granted there was nothing wrong with foreign versions is just if you see a lot of them you know that they go with the darker blue more than our local version. granted another half the time it makes me think of Jeopardy. I mention the other one first because I wanna recognize that the most likely reason they chose this colouring to unite it with the rest of the international brand but at the same time it looks so similar to the colour relation of the jeopardy set right next to it it makes it jarring in harder to keep its own identity. The first one is fine basically but the second one is not. I think they should have kept the colour scheme. (Granted a portion of me wonders if this is even the right discussion to even put this much in but it was already written, I have had a long week and am not in an editing mood)

in terms of yesterday with the Taylor Swift tickets since it's more about the new era. I have to say I am noticing that they seem to be going press your luck style add random things in. part of me is saying good for them and another part of me saying this is tacky. I honestly thought that they were going to change nothing actually about the show except at the new host like with Jeopardy. this is not to say that the show is unwatchable. this is still a great show and all of the changes are not enough to make me stop watching it. I just find it was a weird choice of changes,that's all.

My home state was offered as a prize puzzle. That really surprised me. Surprised me because South Carolina is not a place contestants get sent to real much. I feel like it was a prize wedge once too. I completely see why they offered it though, Vanna is from there too

Thought the speed up puzzle was SPORTS BROADCASTER when S was revealed. That’s probably more of Occupation, I also just learned there wasn't a second S in the first word
