As mentioned in the recap I posted yesterday, I am here to do the recap for the September 5, 1975 episode. Also, just like the previous recap, this episode is currently only available in an audio format which means that there could be a spelling mistake or two with people's names and whatnot. Anyway, lets get this recap going!
======================
Original Air Date: September 5, 1975*
Note: There appears to be a possible discrepancy regarding the dates, as the Wheel of Fortune Wiki states that this episode is from September 5, whereas the Archival Television Audio website states that this is from August 29, 1975.
With that note taken care of, lets actually get this recap started!
======================
Charlie O’Donnell’s Opening: Look at this 1975 boat. This Fantasy Realm (I think) including a train set and a fantasy trip to Florida. This Luxury Package including a velvet love seat and mink coat. And this Home Office Library including a country french desk and 30 volume encyclopedia. These are just some of the many exciting prizes available. Total retail value of all these prizes, more than $19,000! And are yours to buy today on Wheel of Fortune! And now here’s your host, Chuck Woolery!
Chuck introduces our hostess, Susan Stafford. She says good morning to Chuck and everyone else, thanks us for joining them this morning and then introduces us to the contestants.
Contestants:
Janet Peter(?): From Monterey Park, California.
Linda Stigg(?): From Lancaster, California.
Mike Marr(?): Our returning champion, from Thousand Oaks, California. Two-day total, $3,925.
Before Chuck continues the interviews, he and Susan briefly talk about the nice prizes they have backstage today. Susan also tells everyone to have fun and wishes the contestants good luck.
Opening Spiel: Top dollar value on the wheel for the first round is $500. Look out for this black space BANKRUPT because if you hit it, you lose all your cash but not your merchandise because once you buy a prize, it’s yours to keep. (Also, since this is 1975, we have a Buy A Vowel space out there as well.)
Round 1 Puzzle:

Thing
Janet drew number 1 so she gets us going for this first round.
Janet:
BUY A VOWEL (Hopefully that’s the only one today…)
Linda:
$200; S, No S.
It’s now Mike’s turn. As Mike spins, Chuck mentions the used letter board and warns everyone about calling a letter that’s been used.
Mike:
$100; T, No T.
As the turn passes back to Janet, Chuck tells her not to "doze off" on him.
Janet:
$100; R, No R.
Linda:
$200; L, No L.
Mike:
BUY A VOWEL (Okay, two’s enough…)
Chuck says we’re not getting anywhere and asks Janet to pull us out of this.
Janet:
$200; G, Two G’s!
Our board currently looks like this…

It’s now time for a quick commercial. We’ll be back though!

BUY A VOWEL (Ugh!)
Chuck comments about how Buy A Vowel is killing us today.
Mike:

Thing
With $250, Janet finally gets us out of this round by solving. Our puzzle is of course, PUNCHING BAG.
Since this is 1975, Janet (and the other contestants) had a chance to look over the prizes and their prices. She picked the Fantasy Realm(?) for her first showcase, so that’s where she’ll spend her $250…
Clocks / $212
Croquet Set / $35
Round 1 Totals:
Janet: $250
Linda: $0
Mike: $0
======================
It’s time for Round 2, where $1,000 is our Top Dollar Value. Before we begin, Chuck plugs a couple of upcoming events that will be happening on NBC.
Round 2 Puzzle:
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
Person
Since this is round 2, Linda will start us off this time.
Linda:
$600 (?); P, No P.
Mike:
$500; T, Two T’s.
$700; R, One R.
Vowel; E, One E.
BANKRUPT ($1,450 gone…)
Janet:
$200; S, One S.
$300; N, Two N’s.
$700; H, Two H’s.
_ H _ R _ T _ N
H E S T _ N
Person
Janet has $2,200 in her bank and is ready to call it quits on this puzzle. Chuck can’t blame her, especially with how nasty the wheel has been today. So, she solves. The person they’re looking for is CHARLTON HESTON.
$2,200 is some heavy duty loot and Janet will spend that loot in the Home Office Library. She purchases the following prizes…
French Desk and Chair / $1,131
Encyclopedias / $798
Personalized Phone / $95
Letter Rack / $42
After Charlie describes the prizes, Chuck asks him how many words the encyclopedia has in it. After a seconds of silence pass and a "Charlie just passed away in the back room" quip from Chuck, Charlie responds and says that it has 43 million words!
Round 2 Totals:
Janet: $2,450
Linda: $0
Mike: $0
======================
Time for Round 3. Chuck quickly recaps the scores. The TDV remains at $1,000.
Round 3 Puzzle:

Mike starts this round off with a spin.
Mike:

Linda:

$150; L, One L.
BANKRUPT ($650 wiped out…)

Place
With that Bankrupt, we’ll take a quick commercial break.

They’re back and it’s now Mike’s turn.
Mike:

$400; V, One V.

No more spinning can be done, so with $2,300 in his bank, Mike solves. This place is none other than PENNSYLVANIA! (Chuck asks "where?!" and Mike says his answer again with a little more enthusiasm as the puzzle solve cue plays after he said it the first time.)
This is the last round, so Mike spends his money in the Luxury Package Showcase! He ends up buying the following prizes…
Chandelier / $695
Velvet Love Seat / $549
Telephone Bench / $489
Bar Set / $250
Cigarette Table / $149
Champagne / $75
Planter / $40
Round 3 Totals/Final Scores:
Janet: $2,450
Linda: $0!
Mike: $2,300
Mike tried his hardest to make a comeback during that last round but it’s not enough! Janet is the new champion!
At the end of the show, Chuck and Susan talk about Mike’s prizes that he’s won during his reign as champion (he’s leaving with a three-day total of $6,225). They also mention that Janet will be back tomorrow/next time, with Chuck jokingly telling Janet to “wake up”. Then, Chuck and Susan sign off, with Susan thanking us and the credits begin to roll afterwards.

And there it is! My second recap is finally finished. I do have plans for another recap for a Woolery-era episode that isn't in the directory or hidden anywhere else in the recaps.
