Season 5 of CWOF was originally supposed to air on non-MNF Mondays grouped with Press Your Luck and What Would You Do?, to premiere on October 7. The game shows were delayed to October 14 to accommodate an episode of Dancing with the Stars that was pre-empted by the VP debate. Now, ABC has decided to add more national MNF broadcasts for nearly every Monday for the rest of 2024 (except November 11 and December 2). Aside from this impacting the syndicated WOF on the West Coast, WWYD? is being moved to Wednesdays and CWOF and PYL are both being delayed to sometime in 2025. Knowing ABC, CWOF will probably be paired with Celebrity Jeopardy! (which was slated for 2025 from the start), which would be the second time now that CWOF was originally slated to be paired with PYL only for a last-minute change to be paired with some form of primetime J! All promos for Season 5 have been removed from ABC and CWOF's socials. It is worth noting that Season 5 had a holiday special taped (like Seasons 3 and 4), with production code #PT-507. It is worth noting that Season 5 had a holiday special taped (like Seasons 3 and 4), with production code #PT-507. Surely this won't be held all the way to December 2025. Well, hopefully, it airs in January. But this is a bit disappointing. |

Given how things keep getting changed, it could still be possible to have that one lonely holiday themed show pop up somewhere before 2025.
Since most of the stations do a variety of holiday special offerings, it wouldn't be that difficult to pop it in someplace (for instance, some night that they have a 2-hour special to show, fill the 3rd hour with this).

I knew something was up when they still hadn't decided what episode would be the premiere just two business days out. Granted, Season 5 finished taping on October 6-7 but I doubt they would have chosen anything from #PT-507 to 510 since they would have an extremely short turnaround time to get one of those edited and ready for air.

This is embarrassing on the network's part... East Coast ABC O&O airings of the October 14 episode of Jeopardy! included a plug for the CWOF season premiere in the corner of the screen during the contestant interviews. What makes this even more erroneous is that, prior to the change, WABC was planning to pre-empt the premiere because they were planning to air the Bills/Jets MNF game locally (before ABC made it national), even though WABC still added the plug during J!
I'm actually surprised to see that anything WOF-related was promoted during an airing of J!; they rarely do that compared to vice-versa.

Since it's not a game spoiler and the contestants already have been announced, I was at the taping for the office night and Pat filmed a bit for what would have to be the first episode. So unless they don't air the bit or somehow edit it into a different episode then the first night is the office night |

So at least we'll get the one CWOF this season, giving us a chance (no pun intended) to see Pat host again before the rest of the CWOF season airs, and at least one pairing with Press Your Luck.

ABC announced midseason premiere dates, but none yet for CWOF. It won't be paired with Celebrity Jeopardy which is premiering in January, at least not initially. ABC midseason premieres |

I did see Jan. 8 as the official season 3 premiere date for Celeb Jeopardy. Hopefully Celeb Wheel should soon follow that.

I saw on my FIOS TV guide that Season 5 of CWOF will premiere on Monday, December 2 as long there is no NFL Monday Night Football.

^ That's the Season 5 holiday special. It is a new episode, and it is the first episode of Season 5 that will be airing, but ABC won't be billing it as a season premiere.
