Wheel of Fortune has always been "comfort television" for me.
I have been watching Wheel since I was... four years old (?) I remember being 17 (S25 was airing) when I first started being insanely curious about every little detail about America's Game because of the internet and how I was able to access it freely in the privacy of my own home :3
Throughout the years I have been rather "on and off" about my fascination for Wheel. Recently I have resumed being on about it, and in the process I have found BAV Boards I suppose I owe this to my late grandmother. In August this year, she was ushered off the mortal coil and into the heavens, to return to the grace of the Almighty, and into the arms of her late husband. While I did see it coming, the passing was nevertheless a profound one.
The evening after I returned home from my grandmother's funeral, I started watching clips from Wheel, as a means of dealing with the loss (granted, I had mostly come to terms with it by them). In that moment, I remember clearly that Wheel was also a television programme that she would gladly watch with me; even though she understood (and spoke) very little of the English language, she could intuitively understand the basics of the game. Everytime she was at home with me, I would tune in to the television to watch it with her :3 I suppose that is one of the most fondly vivid memories I had with her.
Oh, and for a while we were able to also tune in to Roda Impian (Malaysian "Wheel"). In that programme, she understood everything that was going on - puzzles, rules and all - in much finer detail.
And I can't remember if she and I had watched our local (Singaporean) version of Wheel together LOL
tl;dr been watching Wheel from a young age. Had fond memories watching it with late grandma (among other versions too)
Anyway, that is an introduction of myself, I hope it is sufficient and not too rambly lol. I hope to enjoy myself in these parts of the internet, and perhaps share more about myself, gradually.
Thank you for your time.
