9/11/01: 10-year Anniversary

I honestly do not remember where I was or what I was doing that day. All I know was that I was in New Jersey doing something. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims' families.

I was at kindergarten class. My mother came and picked me up, but didn't tell me what happened. My grandmother works across the Potomac and saw the whole Pentagon incident. (It was indeed a plane). I just remember watching it on TV. Even now, any shows relating to 9/11 still gives me chills... especially 102 Minutes that Changed America.

I was into my second week of eighth grade...I was in science class when a teacher from down the hall came in and said that one of the towers had been bombed...not knowing the full details at the time, of course. Science class proceeded as usual, however, after that, every other class was effectively cancelled, as we sat around the TV watching the events all go down on CNN, often in complete silence.

It's hard to believe it's been almost ten years already...while I didn't personally lose anybody in the attacks, I can feel for those who did...and I still tear up a little bit every time I visit the site in NYC. The world as we knew it completely changed that day... (and I will leave it at that to avoid turning this into a political discussion. )

Well I was in second grade here in Indiana at the time and our Principle came over the P.A. saying that The Twin Towers fell so we stood up, prayed and had a long moment of silence because of what happened ten years ago.

I was in piano class, when one of my classmates told me about a plane hitting the WTC. I thought it was a joke, until I went to snack and study--at which point I found out it was no joke.
