Wheel of Fortune Recap: 9/21/1989

Jim Pence: He's something for a travel agency, I would know what he does if he just talked louder.
Kim Colvert: A student at the University of Notre Dame studying chemicals.
Jill Longmire: Remember her? She was in one of my recaps way long ago and she's still the returning champion with a 2-day total of $50,050 in cash and prizes!

Will Jim silently steal Jill's title? Will Kim teach these two players how to win big? Or will Jill be the queen of the hill at this game? To find out... scroll downwards.



Here comes Round 1, $1,000 is the amount you want to grab this round and Bankrupt is the amount you want to stab. First puzzle of the night is a Phrase.



Jim won the draw backstage so he's spinning first. He's also the first one to hit the top dollar tonight, so he puts up the two Ts! He calls the H and the E next, since he knows the second word is THE. Jim then buys another vowel and spins, he lands on $900 and duds with an S. Kim has a turn and puts up some letters before dudding with a P... on the top dollar. Jill fills in the rest of the consonants...



...and solves BLAZING THE TRAIL for $750!

Heading straight into Round 2 now, with an upgraded top dollar also known as $2,500 and a prize on this wheel, it's a trip to Arizona and some tennis rackets! Those prizes are valued at $2,616, they are marked TRIP on the wheel. The category is yet again, a Phrase.



Kim starts this round and does a lot of work...



She is attempting to make STIFF COMPETITION by solving this puzzle for $3,000.

Someone may be able to win big this round now that $3,500 is on the wheel! Our next puzzle's category is... not Phrase! It's Quotation, a good category that usually makes large puzzles like this one, also included is a hyphen.



Jill starts things off and immediately calls FIVE Ts, but those are only for $200 each. She puts up some more letters, but soon duds with an M on the red $600. Jim spins and hits the top dollar which is good for a B! Then he passes his turn to Kim by repeating that dud M. Kim lights up some letters before...



She quotes the Declaration of Independence, WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF-EVIDENT, which gives her $3,900 more!

$3,500 isn't going anywhere yet, but a Prize has arrived for someone to win, a Grand Piano worth a huge $8,398 (marked PIANO on the wheel, on the pink $300)! Now, the next puzzle is Things.



Jim starts the round and after putting up some vowels an consonants, he hits Lose a Turn, leaving $1,550 behind. Kim then controls the rest of the round, like usual...



She solves HEART PALPITATIONS for another $2,000.

There's now a $5,000 wedge in play, but we won't get to see if it gets into play because all of the round was cut off! Deal with it. But Kim is the new champion since Jill can be seen winning $2,450 this round.

It's Thursday and earlier this week, Brent drove the car home and Jill is sitting on a big bag of cash so Kim has three prizes available for her to win today and they include... the African Safari that has a value of over $30,000, a Precious Metals package that has a price tag of over $27,000, and the motorhome worth over $46,000! Three prizes mean that three cards are available...



She decides to grab the E card, which probably has a good prize beneath it. To win the prize, she must solve this Thing.

And only the vowel can help her. Is it enough help though?



Not enough help, I'm afraid, she has no guess and she loses the motorhome. Albeit, she never had it in the first place, so she missed out on it.
