I'm sure most of you heard the song, and that the event fits in between "Russians in Afghanistan" (70's event) and Sally Ride (80's event).
The question is, is Wheel a 70's event, 80's event, or both? I'm going for both, because of both the daytime and nighttime versions. Some of you may say otherwise, but I'm all ears at this point.

I think it's an 80's event. Wheel was REALLY popular in that decade. I can remember seeing an episode of The A-Team that featured Wheel Of Fortune. WOF came in midway through the 70's so it didn't hit it's peak yet.

I read the Wikipedia article on the song, and you may be right (again I'll hear what others have to say)--as "Russians in Afghanistan" occurred beginning in 1979 (which would be 4 years after the daytime version began, or rather, the show period).
