Wheel of Fortune Recap: 10/25/1989

Halloween is less than a week away and I'm sure somebody could use a treat, or a whole lot of treats since there's over...



...just waiting to be won tonight, on Wheel of Fortune with that Random Free Spin! Here are the three players looking for their treats.

Mark Fulford: From the sound of things, he's a good player. $59,180 is what he won on yesterday's show alone, in cash and prizes!
Monica Divore: From the gambling city of Las Vegas, she's an assistant supervisor for a major bank company. Good job to have, it's Las Vegas.
Hilary Spane: She works for a financial planning company.

And before we head into the game, I just have to do this... since the Free Spin's location has been more or less random during this Season...

There. Now, these players are looking to win a ton of cash and prizes, so let's go!



$1,000 is the top cash amount for this first round and we also have the newly upgraded yellow $500, formerly the Free Spin Wedge's location, now a Free Spin disc is on the wheel somewhere. Phrase is our first category of the night.

Where it left off was Mark spinning with $3,050 in his bank and hitting Bankrupt to lose it. Now we really know Monica's from LV, she takes a few gambles before solving!



Monica stops spinning with $3,200 and does the solving, FASTER THAN GREASED LIGHTNING.

That $1,000 wedge is now upgraded to $2,500and there's a trip to Santo Domingo on the wheel, it's marked TRIP on the wheel, and the value is $3,827! We finally get to see Same Name again, but it has a neglected ampersand, it was left out. I'm sure someone will guess it!



Monica will start this round and before she duds with a T on the purple $250, Pat has Vanna put the & up. Now, play goes to Hilary, she calls an N and then she hits $2,500 for the D! She buys an E and then spins to call a dud R on the yellow $500. Mark has a turn now and he gets the trip, he'll pick it up even though he called a dud S after. Back to Monica and then to Hilary since she hit Bankrupt. Hilary, Mark, and Monica call three duds in a row, Hilary with an L on the red $300, Mark with C, and Monica with J... on $2,500. Over to Hilary again, she buys a bad I. Mark will spin again to find no Ms. Monica's also dudding with a P on the purple $400! Hilary wants to buy an O, but that O is the TENTH dud this round! Mark and Monica then call back to back duds, a bad F on $350 and an H on the blue $300. Hilary may be able to get us out of this rut! She successfully buys the A and the two Us, leaving us out of vowels. She calls the Gs, but then hits Lose a Turn. Mark calls the Bs and then lands on $2,500 and calls the two Ys!



Now it looks simple and he reads DUNE & BABY BUGGY for $6,200 and that trip!

That was a big last round, but it was also a Round of Duds. Let's hope we can avoid having another one this round and I think the odds are good since it's a huge Thing, a huge hyphenated Thing!

The wheel is now packed with the good stuff, starting with a Ring that has a 12.5 karat blue topaz on it, it's a $5,900 value (marked RING)! And if that wasn't enough, a silvery $5,000 is on this wheel. A new category back then is here now, it's Star & Role.



Mark will start the fourth round and he starts it with a bang, one S for $5,000! He buys the E and he buys the A...



What a quick solver! MICHAEL KEATON AS BATMAN is what he impressively solves, earning him another $4,500!

Monica is going to start Round 5 and she does with a $600 T and half a dozen Ss, but only on the minimum $200. Before she can do anything else, the bells come into play.

Over $24,000 won in the maingame and Mark is yet again the big winner with $14,527 in cash and trip! The motorhome was won, there are four prizes in play today and they are: the sedan worth over $32,000, a $40,000 annuity, the watches ($27,500 is on the tag), and the $25,000 in cold hard money! Four great prizes, four cards holding them, which will he choose?

Not really much help so far, Mark has to pick three more consonants and a vowel, he's going for CDMA.



Five letters revealed and six unrevealed, can he be able to solve this one?



He first tries BACK BY CLUBS, which is obviously wrong and then PACK OF CLUBS, which is incorrect... he couldn't get it and he was ONE letter off! He misses out on the $25,000 cash, but I'm not sure if he needs it at all, his two-day total is a huge $73,707 in cash and prizes, he's returning for one more time on the next episode!
