Sorry if this seems like a strange question or one that's out of place, but what is the difference between green and red stars?

It's a good question. Green stars indicate non staff members, but they have either: A) Been part of the staff at some point, or B) Contributed something very valuable to the forums. tenpoundhammer and WarioSajak have green stars because they wrote (the majority of) the WOF History wiki.
Red stars indicate that the user is a current moderator (5 stars), retro recapper (Scott/whammy007 only; 4 stars), or a current admin (6 stars)

To expand upon what Jon said, here's the complete rundown of stars and ranks: Special Ranks: 3 green stars- Production Assistant (site contributors) 4 red stars- Associate Producers (regular moderators, limited in power) 5 red stars- Producers (global moderators, moderation rights over all boards) 6 red stars- Executive Producers (administrators) 6 green stars- Retired Staff Large gold "WOF" star- Show Alumni Regular Members (based on post count; you'll have to find out the numbers for yourselves. Telling you how many you need to get there only encourages posting just to post. ): 1 regular star- 1st Toss-up 2 regular stars- 2nd Toss-up 3 regular stars- Jackpot Round 4 regular stars- Mystery Round 5 regular stars- Prize Puzzle 6 regular stars- 3rd Toss-up 7 regular stars- Speed-up Round 8 regular stars- Bonus Round 9 regular stars- Bonus Round Winner BTW, there IS one rank past "Bonus Round Winner", but you'll have to find out what it is for yourselves.

I had wondered what all the stars meant, so thanks for clearing that up. That info should probably go in the "announcements" thread or somesuch. tenpoundhammer and WarioSajak have green stars because they wrote (the majority of) the WOF History wiki. I never really noticed that until I first saw your post. It also helps that I'm Co-Admin of the Wiki. And this may sound stupid, but how long have TPH and I had the green stars/"Production Assistant" title? Because if it's been since late July/early August, it would certainly explain this and the fact that everybody seemed to miss it (definitely a surprise promotion, especially on my end). BTW, there IS one rank past "Bonus Round Winner", but you'll have to find out what it is for yourselves. And I have a very strong hunch it's something along the lines of "Million-Dollar Winner"...unless it's something like "Host Chat" or "Full Credit Roll" or "Closing Segment", which sound dumb.

Daniel, I've always liked your work- but I realized you hadn't gotten enough credit around these parts for the wiki writing (thank your signature). Quite an astute observation- your green stars came around 2 minutes after my post yesterday in this thread. Credit needed to be given where it's due. There is one tiny little difference (besides the star color) between regular members and Production Assisstants, as a little perk for your good work; it's your job to find it. As for wheelgenius and tenpoundhammer, those have been around since summer (just after your linked post), albeit very under the radar, as you said. tph received his stars for the same reason as you; wiki writing. Keep up that awesome work; you'll get a secret via PM (game show royalty) about who has since viewed it; since they contacted me via email for Wheel resources and a puzzle list. For Wheelgenius, however, his art has not only looked professional, but more importantly, given a good resource for images/layouts of past wheel incarnations on his DeviantART account. Close but no cigar here. It ain't Host Chat or FCR... that would be boring.

This helps, and I think the post counter will tell us what is what when we reach it

Also, no posts means no stars (AKA "Bankrupt") No wonder the staff reduces banned people's posts to 0.
