Daytime Wheel of Fortune - Original Airdate 5/24/91
Time for more spinning, spinning, spinning, and small amounts of winning, winning, winning - back to NBC for WHEEL! OF! SLIGHTLY LESS CHEAPNESS!
Here come our champion and challengers:
Tracye Cooper-Eldridge, a newlywed bank teller from Lexington, Kentucky
Suanne Mrugacz, a one-day champion with $3,225 in cash
Mary Lu Dickinson, a mother of three (soon to be four) from Tacoma, Washington
ROUND 1:
$500 is the top dollar value, and this prize is on the wheel:
a natural foods package - dehydrator, yogurt factory, and breadmaker together valued at $1,075!
_ _ / _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _
PHRASE
Tracye will begin with a spin, and it's a bad R on $125. Now our champ Suanne will try her luck and she finds a single N - on the NATURAL prize! That goes into her bank and her turn continues as she puts up T's, A's, and L's, then solves:
_ T / T A _ _ S
A L L / _ _ N _ S
PHRASE
and IT TAKES ALL KINDS of skill to win on Wheel, and Suanne uses hers for $550 cash and the prize!
Sole Dud: R (Tracye)
Tracye: one good spin, one bad call
Suanne: $1,625 cash and natural foods package
Mary Lu: yet to play
ROUND 2:
Still the same layout, but another prize coming out:
a "new man" package - an Augustus suit and a calendar watch worth $1,100!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _
_ _ / _ _ _ _ _
BEFORE & AFTER
Suanne looks to continue her reign as champion, and she has the lead early. Round 2 isn't too bad for her starting off, as she finds a couple of $200 N's to hit the ground running... but her second spin is the first penalty - LOSE A TURN. Mary Lu gets her first spin of the game, and it's a nice $250, but there are no T's. Back to Tracye for her second turn, and it's a good $300 F! She'll continue from there until she runs into the bad C, so Suanne gets another shot, and she'll use up the rest of the consonants - finishing with two B's on $400 - and try to fill in the vowels...
S H O P P I N G
B _ G
O F / B O N _ S
BEFORE & AFTER
and she does with the slightly morbid SHOPPING BAG OF BONES for $1,850 more!
Duds: T (Mary Lu), C (Tracye)
Lose a Turn: Suanne
Tracye: things just aren't going her way
Suanne: $3,475 cash and natural foods package
Mary Lu: one spin, one dud
ROUND 3:
$1,000 is on the wheel now, and so is another prize:
it's labeled "stars" and it's a $3,000 polished brass telescope!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _
_ _ _ _ _
CLUE
Mary Lu gets her second spin, and with Suanne's big lead, she'd better make it count... well, you've got to start somewhere - there's just one $200 N. She's putting up lots of letters but not hitting any big numbers... her biggest one so far is $400, and she barely keeps it out of Lose a Turn! She flirts with Bankrupt on the next one... but she's safely out to $300 for a trio of B's! She milks out all the consonants and all but one vowel:
A N T I B I O T I C
P R O D _ C E D / B Y
M O L D S
CLUE
and solves ANTIBIOTIC PRODUCED BY MOLDS for $3,000 in cash! She also gets the $250 bonus for identifying PENICILLIN!
PERFECT ROUND!
Tracye: well, maybe Round 4 will be kind to her
Suanne: $3,475 cash and natural foods package
Mary Lu: $3,250
ROUND 4:
$1,250 and $750 join the crew, as does another prize:
a bedroom package - furniture, sleep set, and lamps worth a massive $3,794!

PEOPLE
Tracye really needs to get things in gear this round if she wants to go home with money! Well, she's in gear, but not a high gear - her first three spins are all $100 for a T, FOUR N's, and a D. She finally makes $200, but the are no M's, so Suanne gets her first turn in two rounds. Her first and only spin is FOUR $500 S's - no surprise she wants to solve:
S A _ N T S
A N D
S _ N N _ _ S
PEOPLE
and she nails SAINTS AND SINNERS for another $2,000 in cash!
Sole Dud: M (Tracye)
Tracye: gooseegg alert
Suanne: $5,475 cash and natural foods package
