Our new source of information about the Chiabodo era of French Wheel has just uploaded another episode that is starting to point to the belief that their Jackpot worked just like our daytime version. And here's where you can check this person's collection. So with the link provided, I'm really not going to say anything else here at this point until something is uploaded showing how the Jackpot and the Oreo-style 10,000₣ spaces work or a Debanne episode makes its way to the Net. www.youtube.com/channel/UCfxTFzeBSQlFbAnSwIlVhmg

La roue de la Fortune était un assez bon spectacle, ça me fait parler en français. Maintenant, je ne peux plus m'arrêter.

Bits and pieces of another episode has surfaced thanks to our new French friend. Much of the Jackpot round has been omitted showing only the beginning and the end of it, but if you look closely at what of the video is available, you'll notice that the lady in the blue podium has the Jackpot wedge in her possession, pointing closer to the possibility of their Jackpot working like our daytime counterpart.

The Joker, Bonus, Jackpot, and even the Banqueroute/10,000₣/Banqueroute spaces all see some significant action in this 1996 episode!

Now I recently noticed something about how the values were arranged on the French Wheel layouts from 1993 to 1997. With that in mind, I put together this graphic comparing the French 1993 and 1995 Round 1 layouts (recreations done by me) with the Round 1 layout used on the American version in late 1989 (recreation done by an anonymous source). Note you will have to swap the yellow 1500 and 2500 on the 1993 layout as well as the yellow 750 and 1250 on the 1995 layout to figure out how the values were arranged on France's version.

No one said anything, but here's how all the values were rearranged on France's layout. If you swap the 2500 with the yellow 1500 on the 1993 layout (1250 with the yellow 750 on the 1995 layout), you'll notice that all of the values were arranged to have the adjacent value be higher or lower depending on whether the adjacent values were higher or lower on the corresponding American late 1989/early 1990 Round 1 layout. To try and explain it better for those who still don't understand, take a look at the $700-$200-$150-$450 segment on the American layout as an example. Clockwise of $700 is $200, a lower amount. $150 is lower than $200, $450 is higher than $150. Clockwise of the pink 2000 is 1500, a lower amount. 1000 is lower than 1500. 2000 is higher than 1000 on the 1993 French layout. Yeah, how I'm saying it may still be a bit awkward, but it goes to show how much of a struggle it was for me to find a way to explain this properly. So I do apologize for that. Even so, with the pattern in mind, I made these. www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/La-Roue-de-la-Fortune-1993-Round-3-Concept-884109920www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/La-Roue-de-la-Fortune-1993-Round-4-Concept-884110351Anyway, apart from all that, here's another episode from 1995. Nothing special in this episode - or is there?

Here's a rather eventful first round of a possible 1987 episode that starts at 5:23. Looks like 4000₣ is the top franc value as opposed to 3000₣. Where is that 4000₣ space? See for yourself.

The episode that aired on September 30, 1996, was very eventful. A very loose Wheel, odd overhead camera angles, Olivier saying 5000 francs when he meant only 500 toward the end of Round 3, an unusual problem with the yellow player's arrow near the end of Round 5, and a shocking Bonus Round all made this episode one for the books.

An episode from Monday, July 17, 1995, apparently not long after the values were rounded up. Round 4 is very memorable for not "une" but "deux" reasons! Watch for yourself to see what those reasons are.

Another episode from 1995 before the values were rounded up, but the layout is reversed, and 1000-Passe-500 (7500 in Round 4)-1000 stretch is flipped. Unfortunately, the video quality could be better, but I managed to figure out where everything is on the Wheel. I plan to make recreations of the layouts soon.

Here is the first part of the January 5, 1987 premiere! As you may notice with just about any premiere of any version of Wheel of Fortune, things look, sound, and feel a little different than later on. Now before I show you, a warning. It's an age-restricted video and thus can only be viewed at YouTube. Before Wheel is a bunch of ads and other stuff that aired on TF1 in the few minutes leading up to the premiere, and some of the stuff, while not outright mature at least as far as I can tell, may not look all that everyone-friendly either. If I somehow missed something that is too much to be shown here, however, I apologize in advance and allow the mods to remove the link down below. That said, I made it a link and made the video start at the 14:24 mark (since the age-restricted warning filter makes the video start at the beginning) and put it in a spoiler in hopes to minimize as many problems as possible.
