According to the alt.tv.game-shows on Google Groups, Terry's $62,400 loss wasn't the only big, huge loss of money. Apparantly, at one point during the shopping era, a contestant racked up $60,000+ on the puzzle STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT FIRST STAR I SEE TONIGHT. The letter I wasn't revealed and the contestant decided to finally solve the puzzle, but accidentally left out the "I" and was disqualified and the next contestant immediately solved the puzzle for, like, $200. Here are the posts about it. groups.google.com/group/alt.tv.game-shows/browse_thread/thread/49431b7df2c4c032/949e4741eb8de993?lnk=gst&q=STAR+LIGHT+STAR+BRIGHT#groups.google.com/group/alt.tv.game-shows/browse_thread/thread/748b9a9f80d2b0a6/04ae1aa09116aa87?lnk=gst&q=STAR+LIGHT+STAR+BRIGHT#04ae1aa09116aa87groups.google.com/group/alt.tv.game-shows/browse_thread/thread/56fdc7e084368501/9c9803a5f6703be6?lnk=gst&q=STAR+LIGHT+STAR+BRIGHT#groups.google.com/group/alt.tv.game-shows/browse_thread/thread/f4ffa6fd38edc892/c55964756ec0bfcf?lnk=gst&q=STAR+LIGHT+STAR+BRIGHT#Could it be that this did, indeed, happen, but no one recorded it or remembers it?

I know Horan has his detractors, but he is quite reliable when it comes to details such as this. He at least confirms that the puzzle existed.
Given that GSN never reran season 3 or 4, I would bet there are a lot of early treasures from that era.
