Having our version of Wheel air what Wheel is like in Vietnam on Tuesday, that episode was most likely taped before Vietnamese Wheel made a bit of a change.
Here's what it looks like now! Commercials are included.
In case you're wondering, Vietnam's title for their version of Wheel means "magic hat."

nice theme, reminds me of an old Le Juste Prix theme. I see that the "mini tournament" format met more success there than in Italy, where it was tried only once. and the nice touch: if the contestant fails the bonus round, it's offered to someone in the audience

A new look for 2014. It looks like they have their own color scheme now, and it also looks like they have types of rounds such as the Mystery Round (I have the barren layout). Another thing that occured to me was that the values may not be in points but thousands of Vietnamese dongs.

Guys, what I meant about the Wheel offering points or cash is that it's really a thought that came to me the itger day. There is a possibility that the Wheel may have offered dongs since it started in 2002. I don't know if it has ever offered points or cash or when it started offering either. It's really a possibility I wanted everyone here to consider. BTW, I stated this over at the Wikia. If anyone here speaks Vietnamese, please, any info would be much appreaciated.

^ I might not be aware of how inflation worked in Vietnam, but I would really think that if it offered points, it would be closer to the U.S. setup.

Back in 2011, it was, and when they redesigned the set in 2012, the color scheme resembled that of the one used in the U.S. from 2006 to 2008. Furthermore, the 2012 intro was a localized version of the American 2008 intro. So, they have been using various U.S. elements, but after finding out what they offer in the bonus round, I just had this feeling that they were doing what some other versions (such as Italy's) may have done. Sometimes, you just have to put 2 and 2 together to come up with a possibility to explore.
I'm also hearing a word that sounds like the Spanish word tambien when a value is landed on. Any knowledge on what this means?

Google Translate is giving me "trăm điểm", which sounds very close, for "hundred points".
ETA: On the other hand, it says "trăm ngàn" is "hundred thousand", and I'm having a hard time hearing the last vowel clearly. We may have to find a Vietnamese speaker to tell us which is which...

Well, with that mention of "điểm," I realize I'm wrong about the Wheel offering dongs. I should've remembered that "điểm" means points. At the same time, however, what if those points were converted to thousands of dongs at the end of the game anyway? Because almost any game show can convert a score into something else. For instance, "National Lampoon's Funny Money" used its billions of Funny Money Dollars for time (as "Time is Money") for a comedian's performance meant to aid a contestant in winning a trip in the bonus round.
If points were not to be converted, I wouldn't be surprised if gameplay was the same as "Wheel 2000" throughout the show's run.

Guess I was wrong about Them Luot being a Free Play space. It's still Free Spin. You have to call a correct letter to be awarded a Free Spin. Here's the episode from February 7, 2015. Note there is a possible null cyle about 2/3 through the episode. It's when gameplay goes to the yellow podium to the red podium.
Also note the show airs every Saturday.

Check out the redesigned set. The Wheel layout is still same, but better overhead views show us what the center actually looks like. They also show the letters and numbers on each wedge far better, something that I think will help designerboy7 with making layouts for each round if you're interested in doing that.

Is this a new wheel layout?

It's unlikely. I said the Wheel layout is still the same, but for some reason, the colors seem to be in different shades than a while back. I don't know if it's the lighting, the new camera angle, or what not, but I don't think it changed.
As for the center, however, it seems to be something metallic or something like that.

For those who don't know, Wheel of Fortune in Vietnam has been suddenly canceled after 15 years on air on national tv channel VTV3. It was anounced on the show's last episode (24/12/16 - Christmas Special)
P/s: I don't know is this mentioned before, but when the show revamped in 2012, a new format has been introduced. The show got three teams each episode, and they have to eliminate each other. There is a chance of nobody in the team gets in the finals round, or there is one get in. Then the winner of the finals would get in to the bonus. The time to think is 30s and there is 10s to tell the answer. They no-longer feature a sperate bonus wheel. Instead, they use the main wheel with prize wedges on it. The prize is counted on the left of the arrow.

What would it take for all three teams to be eliminated? I'm really curious now. I see how nobody would win in the Brazil version, but I want an explanation for the Vietnam version.

What would it take for all three teams to be eliminated? I'm really curious now. I see how nobody would win in the Brazil version, but I want an explanation for the Vietnam version. I've never seen a situation like this on Vietnam Wheel so the show might play again from the beginning (because it was recorded a month earlier, they usually did 2 to 3shows/day so they can easily play again but it will cost more time) or they could add toss-ups for each team until they can found the winner (but toss-ups was eliminated in this format, the red player always spin first and no explaination from the host why the red player started the game) (This is the source from one of the production team's member when I wachted the show from its studios in Hanoi - I lived in Ho Chi Minh City-Saigon and I still now) Also in this format, if there is no person in the team can solve the puzzle in any round (except the extra toss-up which I metioned earlier), they will ask the audience group; if the audience group can't, they will show some letters until there is a person in the audience group can solve exactly. The hostess is completely speakless since mid-2011 (?) until the show's cancelation and she is not so frendly as Vanna White is the US (Vanna can chat to the audience but the Vietnamese hostess is not). I also think this is the reason why this format was axed after 5 months (?) on air and revert to the US format (which started in use since late 2009 - early 2010) The US format in Vietnam had some changes since the first day. There was no Final Spin, no 3rd Toss Up, no Free Play and there is no exact number of letters the contestant must guess in the bonus (it depends on the length of the puzzle, usually from 2 to 5) and this will be annonced by the host. P/s: There was a special episode celebrate 1000 years of Thăng Long (now Hanoi) the hostess Hồng Nhung (2009 - 24 Dec 2016) was replaced by a model named Phương Thảo (you'll see in this clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyI5Dd3nNnk). In the bonus, she missed a N in total of 4 Ns and this has been edited when it broadcast on TV. For the 2012 format, this clip would show you how the format works: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR_2cYzVCU0

www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-cMqaIE_X4This clip will show you about the after-early days of Vietnam Wheel (maybe 2002-2003). They've tried to make the set looks like their US counterpart since the early days.
