Jeopardy!, as many of you know, did road shows from Season 14 to Season 25, starting with the semifinals of the 1997 Teen Tournament and the Power Players Week.
Remember that in Season 25, the ToC was taped in Vegas, where we first saw the new set that was put into permanent use starting with Season 26.
Season 26 saw no road shows at all.
Last season, the IBM challenge was taped in upstate New York, but I'm not sure if that's safe to say that was a road show. However, at least it was better than what we saw in Season 26.
Just before the start of this season, I saw on some threads that the semifinals & finals of the Teen Tournament and Power Players Week will be taped in Washington DC this coming May. But I did not see Power Players Week listed as some of the highlights of this season on Jeopardy's website.
Will there be any road shows at all this season?
How come after Season 25, Jeopardy pretty much stopped doing road shows?

Because they don't need loud audiences like Wheel does. I honestly have no idea.

Actually, J!'s road shows date back to Season 13. Remember its visit to Stockholm? They only had the Semi-Final and Finals games there, mainly it was because the quarterfinal games were played in their own countries, but I could be wrong about the latter part of it though.

I'm willing to bet that cost is always a factor too. I think when they take the shows on the road it costs at least a couple million bucks. Sure that's not a lot of money for the shows but I have heard they're still trying to get corners to save money wherever they can. Staying in your home studio is the easiest way to save money.

So Jeopardy will be taping in Washington D.C. in April. They'll be taping the semi-finals and finals of the Teen Tournament along with Power Players Week. You can read more here www.jeopardy.com/news/powerplayers2012.php

Well, who could forget when they took the show on the road for their College Championships; not to mention Radio City Music Hall for the 4000th episode and M$ Masters Tournament in 2002, and Celebrity Jeopardy in 2006?

Well, who could forget when they took the show on the road for their College Championships? During Season 16, the College Championship was taped in Culver City. The last time the College Championship was taped on the road was in Season 24; since Season 25, the College Championship has always been in Culver City. I think I may now know why in Season 26 there were no road shows at all. It was probably because that was the first season with the new set. Also, I think the College Championship stayed in Culver City in Season 25 because they rolled out the new set at CES and were getting it ready for the following season.

One question about the traveling set Jeopardy! will use this year.
I'm wondering if we'll still see the projection wall like we saw with past traveling sets or if they'll use the same (or similar) game board used at the IBM Challenge last year.
