Nighttime Wheel of Fortune: "Some of the Greats" - Original Airdate 2/22/1995 (Season 12)
They played for themselves, now they're playing for charity... for the third night, some of the great champions of the previous few years are all invited to Disney World to play WHEEL! OF! FORTUNE!
Here are the three players and their charities:
Kelly Vaught (still male), playing his third game this week with $67,100 for the Orange County Red Cross
Robin Slate, ex-Navy newlywed who will be raising funds for the Virginia Beach SPCA
Alison Gordy, a New Yorker and band member supporting Habitat for Humanity
ROUND 1:
Tonight's winner will play the Bonus Round for $25,000 in additional cash for their charity.
$1,000 is the top dollar and the Free Spin (one of just two cardboard pieces tonight) is on yellow $500.

BEFORE & AFTER
Kelly will start us off, having drawn the number 1 again, but he will LOSE A TURN right away. Robin finds a nice dollar amount - $900 - but no N. Alison does even better with the $1,000 wedge... but no T. After the opening null cycle, Kelly starts us off, successfully this time, with a $250 L and the night's first cash. His letter calls keep getting better as he goes on... a pair of R's followed by a trio of S's! But there's no I, so his little run stops here and Robin takes over long enough to dud the D. Alison can't hit on the H, but Kelly doesn't miss on the M call! Later on, there's just one J, good enough for him to add the FREE SPIN to his slowly (but surely) growing stack of cash, which will grow no further as he attempts a solve...

BEFORE & AFTER
and if you combine a burlesque star and the $6,000,000 Man, you get GYPSY ROSE LEE MAJORS (and Kelly gets $2,250!)
Duds: N (Robin), T (Alison), I (Kelly), D (Robin), H (Alison)
Lose a Turn: Kelly
Kelly: $2,250 + Free Spin
Robin: 0 for 2 this round
Alison: also 0 for 2
ROUND 2:
$2,500 will cover the $1,000 space, but there will be no prize joining it - everything is cash tonight.

PHRASE
Robin will try for her first cash of the night, and while she's a full wedge short of $2,500, there a $500 T to kick off the round. After a pair of N's at $500 each and a $450 R, control slips away from her with a bad S call. Alison, too, is looking for her first money... and she too finds it, with two C's! After a little more work, she buys FOUR O's and then runs us out of consonants:
L _ C K / O F
C O O R D _ N _ T _ O N
PHRASE
She doesn't have a LACK OF COORDINATION, but Alison does have $1,500!
Sole Dud: S (Robin)
Kelly: $2,250 + Free Spin
Robin: 3 for 4 this round, but no cash
Alison: $1,500
ROUND 3 - $10,000 ROUND:
Let's meet the only other cardboard piece besides the Free Spin... it's the golden Oreo with $10,000 in the middle!

MEGAWORD
That's right, it's being used in back-to-back shows... it's Megaword! Alison is down by $750 but has control of the wheel to begin the search, but it's Robin who's going to make the big splash after the N and S come up duds. She finds a $3,500 R, which could put her in the lead if she wins the round! After a harrowing brush with Bankrupt, she loses her turn by the bad L, giving Alison a second chance. Behind the blue podium, she cheers as her second spin finds the Oreo wedge... and then frowns as there is no C. After a missed M and D, she has control back again long enough to yell out a dud Y. Kelly finds a single P, then spends about half of his $550 on a bad O. Robin does not hit with the H, so it's back to Alison for the fourth pass now. She tries the rare Z... and it predictably fails. Kelly fins an F... the last consonant:
_ P _ R _ T _ F
MEGAWORD
and he doesn't choose to buy a vowel, instead solving APERITIF for $700! After forming the traditional semi-coherent sentence, he adds another $500 to that total.
Duds: N (Alison), S (Kelly), L (Robin), C (Alison), M (Kelly), D (Robin)
More Duds: Y (Alison), O (Kelly), H (Robin), Z (Alison)
Kelly: $3,450 + Free Spin
Robin: gooseegg alert
Alison: $1,500
ROUND 4 (Partial Speedup):
Time for $5,000 to hit the wheel, and with a little spinning time to spare!

PEOPLE
Kelly has the right to begin the spins in this round, but the first spin from him is his last for now... BANKRUPT. Robin is in dire straits, trying to just get on the board at this point... and she can't convert the $5,000 hit with no N's. The Oreo wedge is still on the wheel, and Alison Bankrupts on the left side of it, so we have another round-opening null cycle. Kelly loses his turn again on the bad L, while Robin hits the right side of the Oreo to lose hers as well. Alison gets a spin off right as the Final Spin bells sound, putting up a pair of S's at $700 each and giving the board this look going into speedup:

PEOPLE
The wheel is in a spot where there's not a lot for Pat to hit, but he manages to coax a $900 spin out of it. Alison misses with the H, while Kelly finds a T right behind the second S and mis-solves with SUPERSTAR GUYS. After a lot of cycling around, Robin thinks she has it...

and she does with SEQUESTERED JURY, meaning she will claim $2,700 and avoid a blanking!
Duds (pre-speedup): N (Robin), L (Kelly)
Duds (post-speedup): H (Alison), P (Alison), J (Kelly), G (Robin), C (Alison), M (Robin), F (Alison), W (Kelly)

Missed Solve: Kelly with SUPERSTAR GUYS
Kelly: $3,450 (Free Spin unused, current three-day total of $70,550)
Robin: $2,700
Alison: $1,500
Kelly's going to play for the bonus $25,000 for the third night in a row!
