(Jeopardy should have its own question thread...)
When did the set start changing to red for Final Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! only?

If you mean on the current set, I believe it was last season (2010-11; Season 27). None of the other classic sets changed to red for Final Jeopardy! only.

If you mean on the current set, I believe it was last season (2010-11; Season 27). None of the other classic sets changed to red for Final Jeopardy! only. The first time the set changed to red for Final Jeopardy! only was the first week with the 2002-2009 back in Season 19, back when it was brand-new; but for the rest of Season 19 (starting with the second week of the set) and the following two seasons, it stayed blue throughout the whole show. However, starting with Season 22 (2005-2006) and continuing to today, the set turned red for Final Jeopardy! only.

This is another topic discussing the Jeopardy! sets, but this one is specifically about the current set.
As you know during the first two seasons with the current set, Alex made his entrance through the sliding doors (similar to when the Sushi Bar set was in use), but this season he enters from behind the game board (like in Season 1 and when the 2002-2009 set was in use).
I have two questions. First, would someday, the sliding doors be removed from the set since Alex is now making his entrance from behind the game board?
Second, will Alex go back to going through the sliding doors, stand in front of the game board at the start of double jeopardy and when he reveals the final jeopardy clue?

The things you've mentioned were put in place as a result of Alex tearing his Achilles tendon in the summer. I kind of like Alex at his lectern throughout the show.

I merged the two threads about Jeopardy! sets together...there's no need to have two. One will suffice.
