Hello! My name is Matt, and I am very glad to have found this WoF Lovers website. I am a former contestant on the show(as I'm sure many of the readers/posters to this website are), and have been looking for an outlet to show my Wheel love! I taped my episode on October 27, 2011, and the air date was Dec. 15, 2011. I made it all the way to the bonus round, and although I fucked up the final puzzle, I still walked away with $31,800. It was an awesome experience and one I will never forget. I look forward to meeting all of you and talking more about the show!

Welcome, Matt. Glad you found us. We love when we get former (or in some cases, future) contestants. In case you haven't noticed, we have a recap and discussion thread for your episode if there's anything you want to add from your experience. I don't blame you for your Bonus Round loss. A lot of us thought it was TACO STAND at first. I would have lost, too. What you got was an example of a "budget-saver" puzzle, a puzzle that goes to strecthy measures to use a Q, X, or Z. We hope you stick around and add to our discussions, or maybe even participate in our "episodes" (in the Game On! section), Daily Puzzle Game, or contribute to our fanart thread (in Real Wheels).

Welcome to the boards, Matt. I'm glad you had a great experience. Well, even if you didn't get the bonus puzzle, you walked away with a lot of money, which was something. Besides, I'll bet the wheel was real heavy for you, right?

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, because I haven't been around this board long enough, but despite claims from almost every wheel player I've met or read about on the WoF contestant blogs(I authored the blog for my specific week, by the way), I'm going against the grain and saying that I didn't think the wheel was any heavier than I thought. It's a huge wheel made of steel, of course it's going to be heavy! I will say though, that getting the technique down was a little tricky. You have to spin it in such a way that your hand doesnt get caught on all the small metal pegs during the follow through of your spin. But I DID manage to spin it with the same amount of force each time, or at least I tried to. Thus why landing on the Jackpot wedge three spins in a row might not have been just a fluke. Yes, I'm a WoF nut and thought all of this through haha
