Man, what can I say?
I've always looked up to this man, he and Ray Combs (who, coincidentally, died 16 years ago today; June 3 must be a bad day for Feud hosts) have been the model of the other Feud hosts and Dawson himself the model for many. I've looked up to this man for quite awhile, and he (along with Combs) is indirectly responsible for me even being here, writing this. Without picking up an interest in Feud, I probably never would've shown up at Golden Road, and then here.
And Match Game...damn, probably the best person ever to play the game. He was the last of all the regular panelists (Both Charles and Brett died in 2007, and McLean Stevenson, who became a regular at the end of the syndicated run, died in 1996), meaning the only ones left are semi-regulars and one-timers (Betty White, Fannie Flagg, Marcia Wallace, Bart Braverman, Vicki Lawrence, list goes on.)
We've lost a very respectable man...with not only a long game show career, but a respectable acting career (anyone remember Hogan's Heroes?) RIP, Richard. You will be sorely missed.

And ironically, he died 16 years after his successor/predecessor Ray Combs committed suicide by hanging himself in his L.A. hospital room.
