An official NBC press release, dated February 5, 1975. Pretty much the best shot of the original center stage I've seen, plus the Round 3 layout with only one Lose A Turn visible. It's listed as "Buy It Now" for $33.88 + $2.99 shipping. Also, part of the "Historical Images" watermark goes over Susan's eyes, making her look bad.

Based on Wheelgenius's "best-guess" layouts, the second LaT on that layout would be three wedges left of the Buy a Vowel wedge closest to the camera. It may have just not made it into the shot.

This photo is in the first edition of the encyclopedia of tv game shows. This is however, the best quality of it I've seen. Now that I look closely, it looks like the "doors" are the same style as the LMAD and TPIR doors. That whole thing probably extended from the contestant backdrops to the puzzleboard.
Regarding the wheel, it's obviously spinning. The $900 kind of looks like it's stuck on there; the $700 and $800 don't, but all three of them clearly are in the 1978 Star Bonus episode.
Btw Scott, wheelgenius' "best guess" layouts are based on layouts that I posted on the wiki a while back. I have several theories about the early years.

I so wish I had the money to buy this photo right now =,-( This is still a great find, and it would be a neat addition to the Wiki if it weren't for the darn watermark.

^For the record, the actual physical image doesn't have the watermark -- it's there for the auction as a protective "layer", as it were. That's why, in the Wiki's MOS page, we strictly rule out using images from eBay -- so nobody gets in trouble and the Wiki isn't guilty by association.
Besides that, I wouldn't know how to go about asking companies for permission. Given the opinions stated in this forum (myself in particular), I doubt we'd get anywhere with Wheel itself -- heck, we might even get slapped with a cease-to-exist order.
