Okay, why? You couldn't be arsed to pay for Jim to fly to Portland, Wheel? Who announced in-studio, then? Or does it really matter, since it wasn't meant to air? I don't know where Andy's information actually came from...a behind-the-scenes piece on Portland's KDRV-TV showed Jim in Portland...

Cu is correct. Jim DID go to Portland with everyone else. Andy, where did you hear he was announcing post-production? BTW, I messaged BuzzerBlog on Facebook. Turns out Sony told them that Thursday and Monday's shows would be "big" and to alert the readers. Why am I not surprised?

There's a nice 4.5 minute Jim interview clearly showing him doing crowd pump-up duty in Portland as well.
Be careful of making particular statements like that, Andy.
Personal attack of "nice job jumping the gun" removed and replaced w/ a less insulting statement.

Sorry if I upsetted you guys. I reviewed the episode again, and Jim was there in the studio. I've removed the last line of my opening statements.
I thought it sounded like when he introduced Pat and Vanna at the start, it sounded dubbed but I was wrong.

I reviewed the episode again, and Jim was there in the studio. Eh, no hard feelings -- an honest mistake. Given how many plugs are just recycled over and over, though, he might as well not even be in the studio.

Here's Emily's post-game blog: www.wheeloffortune.com/contestants/contestantblogs/index.php?id=533And I must quote the following paragraphs by Emily: Wayoshi, you're right. She wasn't that good at this game. She just lucked out. And as for the opening round, I have to agree w/ Mario that she should've solved at the point Manny BANKRUPTED.

First off, thank all of you for being so supportive. But I have to say, the reason I didn't win R1 was because the category COMPLETELY slipped my memory. I kept on wondering what i would find INSIDE of a glove compartment. However, I do have to say that MannyFits has now become my nickname among my friends. And yes, I loved the show, and I loved the opportunity to be on the show. -Manny This was...quite the interesting show. When it comes to Emily, anything could've happened regarding that MDW. Her decision making certainly could've changed in the resulting rounds. So was she greedy? No. Did she not think about the risk she was taking? Yes. I feel sorry for Manny, who must be a professional at stripping wheels. He just couldn't get "Fits." Which is odd. Saying "_its Like a Glove Compartment" over in your head should lead you to fits. Or maybe he had a problem with "Like"; either way I felt sorry for him. It's always nice to play "What Clearly Transparent Puzzle Are They Going To Play Tonight" during the Prize Puzzle Round. One other thing, is it time for Wheel's 100K wins to be like Price's DSWs in Season 39? Okay, maybe it's a little too late, but still a nice turnaround from zero wins to two in 3 days.

I'm pretty sure you don't take chances with the Million-Dollar Wedge. I do. Quite frankly, it's not worth all that much to me. If I got it during the main game, I would basically try to ignore it. It doesn't help me win the game. It can be lost at any time. The odds of me using it are very very slim. There's no guarantee that the Million Dollar envelope would have been in the same place as the $100,000 one (the word "replace" does not ensure this). It's two different games when she has the wedge the rest of the way, so everybody needs to lay off of Emily and allow her to enjoy her big win.

Welcome, Manny. And thanks for your input. Might I ask how you found this forum? We've been getting a lot of contestant members lately. I'm pretty sure you don't take chances with the Million-Dollar Wedge. Sometimes you have to if you want the thing to go any further (this isn't applicable in Emily's case). It's still important to make sure you can build a lead, because otherwise, the wedge has no purpose. If you kept solving for the house minmum left and right (except on the Trip/Prize Puzzle of course ), you might end up protecting it for nothing. Here's a screenshot of the current Used Letter Board in action, taken from a Portland news promo (MINOR SPOILER ALERT): i.imgur.com/LVYXk.pngAlso, I guess I feel I should take back my comments about Emily being cost $900K, and I do apologize, but I still didn't agree with her gameplay overall. I was happy to see her win the big one regardless, though. However, I hate how winning the 100K automatically means being the contestant blogger...

However, I hate how winning the 100K automatically means being the contestant blogger... The misconception is that, just because someone won a lot, they were a good player. Contestants have stumbled into huge wins and never deserved or earned them, which was apparently why they stopped using returning players (which, as I've said before, is BS because it still happens and moreso with the Trip Puzzle). I know some Price Is Right contestants who were total jerks and won more than anybody else. Golden-Road tends to not be happy when that happens, and I can't blame them.

I think a reminder of Rule #9 is in order... 9. While some negative comments are allowed, please respect others' opinions, and avoid name calling. In addition, please do not call out contestants for nitpicky things such as calling a "common" letter on cardboard when they don't know the puzzle...remember, contestants DO read these boards. Flerbie's right...let's lay off of Emily. She won $100K; that's all that matters. Her strategy obviously did not "fail", since she won. I was forced to delete Wario's entire post because all it was was him calling out her contestant blog post. I really hate having to do this to such a good, contributing member...but being that this is not the first time I've had to tell him this, he will now be serving a fifteen-day suspension from the site. We cannot allow such bashing of contestants in such a public setting...remember, they do read these boards. Hopefully this'll be the last time I have to say this... Back on-topic...nice to have you here, Manny! Always great to read the experiences of actual contestants...too bad it didn't work out for you in the end. At least you had a good time, no?

Nice to see you here, Manny. I've moved away from blaming contestants directly for their faults because I can understand how absolutely nerve-wracking it is being up there; hence my switch to blaming their nerves instead. And besides, I'm sure you're plenty happy with the $4,750 you did win. Also nice to see that you and your friends have taken that little gaffe quite well, as evidenced by your new nickname.

A friend showed me the site's link and I cracked up!
My grandmother always wishes for everyone to win something when they go on the show. To her, that's a success, same for me.
I had a marvelous time on the show, but I think that is evident.

Odie, a 0 out of 10 is not possible for a MDW loss. If all three players were incredibly stupid, then you might consider giving that rating. But Emily went on to win the $100K, so this episode doesn't deserve such an awful rating like what you just gave.

^ You must REALLY hate MDW losses. Wonder how your friend knew about this site, Manny. Hopefully for good reasons.
