Big Money Week draws to a close. Can we win one of those big amounts added to the Bonus Wheel?
$1,000 Toss-Up: Occupation B _ N K M _ N A G E R
Taylor says BANK MANAGER.
Taylor Shank (male), University of Virginia student from Martinsville, VA Dave Smith, brewer from Branchport, NY Dianna Lahmann, Washington State Department of Health worker/admistrative assistant from Olympia, WA
$2,000 Toss-Up: Around the House P E R _ I _ N R _ _
Taylor's 2 for 2 with PERSIAN RUG.
Prize on Wheel: Intercontinental New York Barkley hotel + Metamorphosis Day Spa ($6,415)
Jackpot Round: Phrase Taylor leads us off with a pair of $300 T's, but amazingly, this huge puzzle is devoid of E's. Dave's first spin is Lose a Turn. On her second buy, Dianna duplicates the E. Taylor regains control with N, buys A, then duplicates the I! Dave hits Free Play and calls O. He calls D for $400, but gives it right back to a Bankrupt. Dianna buys U, but Bankrupts as well. As does Taylor. Dave then gets the Omaha Steaks tag with Y, only to lose it to… you know what.
Y O U / S C _ A T C _ M Y / B A C _ / A N D I ' L L / S C _ A T C _ Y O U _ S
Diana ends the carnage and solves YOU SCRATCH MY BACK AND I'LL SCRATCH YOURS for $3,600.
Bankrupt: Dave ($400), Dianna ($1,650), Taylor (loss of turn), Dave (gift tag) Lose a Turn: Dave Sole dud: E (Taylor) DQ: Dianna's repeated E, Taylor's repeated I
Left behind in Jackpot: $8,800
R: $3,600 Y: $3,000 B: ==== Mystery Round: Show Biz Hey looky there, we have a colon on the board.
Dave's first spin is the Mystery Wedge between Free Play and Lose a Turn. He calls T then flips it for $10,000! However, he calls a nonexistant H next. Dianna calls S and R…
T _ _ / _ R _ _ S _ S T _ R S / _ _ _ _ S S _ _ _ : _ _ _ _ S S _ _ _ _
…then for $3,700, she solves TOM CRUISE STARS IN MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE.
Sole dud: H (Dave)
R: $7,300 Y: $3,000 B: ==== Prize Puzzle: Place Dianna is first, landing on the Bankrupt on the left edge of the MDW. And what do you know, Taylor hits the other edge of the same thing. Dave lights up three R's and buys A, but can't find an S. Nor can Dianna find a T. Taylor lands on the Kia tag on the green $500, getting it with N. A few vowels later, he calls a repeated R, leading to a loud grunt and a funny exchange from Pat, who tells him to "man up". Dave then hits Lose a Turn. Back to Dianna, who says C.
_ O R E I G N C U R R E N C _ E _ C _ A N G E
With $1,050, she solves FOREIGN CURRENCY EXCHANGE. She might need to visit one on her trip to the Dominican Republic (Barceló Palace Deluxe in Punta Cana) worth $6,360!
SPIN ID: BR8612416 (Bonnie R.)
Bankrupt: Dianna, Taylor (loss of turn for both) Lose a Turn: Dave, again Duds: S (Dave), T (Dianna) DQ: Taylor's repeated R
R: $14,710 Y: $3,000 B:
==== $3,000 Toss-Up: Living Thing M _ U N T _ I N _ L _ E _ I R D
Taylor says MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD to sweep the Toss-Ups.
Round 4: What Are You Doing? Final Spin is $1,300.
M A _ _ N G / A / W _ S _ _ N _ _ S T M _ N T
With the board looking like the above, Dianna guesses MAKING A WISH INVESTMENT.
After Taylor's dud H (followed by an "I did it again!")…
M A K _ N G / A / W _ S _ _ N _ _ S T M _ N T
…Dave's MAKING A WISE INVESTMENT worth $6,500.
Dud: R, L, H (all Taylor)
End totals: R: $14,710 Y: $6,000 B: $6,500 ==== $100,000 Bonus Round Dianna lands on the G in GAME. The puzzle is Person:
_ _ _ _ R _ T _ E R
G, C, D and A give her…
_ _ D _ R _ T _ E R
She can't figure out that it's a KID BROTHER and loses…
…THE $100,000 AGAIN!! Seriously, what the heck is going on this week?! That's the sixth of the season, and the FOURTH time we've had two in one week!

This was a VERY UGLY episode to end the week. I hate so say this, but all three contestants didn't play very well.
R1: Terrible first round (including Dianna and Taylor's repeats). And Dianna gets the consonative label for leaving the R's and H's.
R2: This round was a little better. I had this w/ just the :. I feared somebody would say the H, and Dave did. Dianna was being a consonative once again. M's and N's, ma'am.
R3: Second-worst round of the night. Why, Taylor, why? Another bad repeat by him.
R4: I had this before the M's appeared. There is no such thing as a WISH INVESTMENT, Dianna.
Bonus Round: I had this once the D appeared. I just can't believe the $100K showed up again this week, and I may have good reason to be very worried that we would never have a $100K win this season (it would be the first since Season 21). I was kinda hoping for Dianna to gives us a TOTAL TRAINWRECK, but her BR playing is still a TRAINWRECK, nonetheless.
EPISODE RATING: 3 out of 10
And I wish they showed us where the three new amounts are...

I had Mission: Impossible with just the colon, but threw it out once I figured out the top part was Tom Cruise. I honestly had no idea there was a movie of it.
Had KID BROTHER with just RSTLNE.

I thought for sure the bonus puzzle was going to be BIG BROTHER; I've been tricked by all but one of them this week.
I'm not going to be so harsh on the players- as Pat said at the end, sometimes parts of this game aren't nice to them. And Taylor reminded me of yours truly sometimes at home in my daily life, especially when he screamed after his second letter repeat of the game.
In any event, I felt this was the WORST episode of the season so far.
Score: 3 also

Good god.
If I were to fully vent, I'd probably violate rule #9, that's just a fact, so let me just leave it at this...
-The 9 penalty spins were probably the BEST part of the game, honestly. -3 repeats in 3 rounds? Are you kidding me? I can't believe we've had so many rounds with 2 repeats, I made WOFTracker compatible to include multiple repeats in a round only for technical reasons! -I was happy about 5 C's actually on a decent amount, 600. Then 7 S's on 300. God damn, it really feels like nothing goes right anymore on the super multiples. I wouldn't have really quick solved either, since the men played so terribly I bet it would have gotten back to her anyways worst case! -THE may be 99% guaranteed on T _ _, but you better believe SHOW BIZ might have that exception! Dumb call on that big puzzle. -To put this lightly... Taylor hamming it up for the cameras was uncomfortable as hell. They were just repeats and a dumb call when you didn't know R4, Taylor. A reaction drawing Pat out of his spot should be reserved for only really bad missolves. -Still can't believe Dianna and Taylor whiffed on R4 like that. It's like Taylor listened to the missolve and didn't register it was wrong with that call. Just atrocious. -I really think that the BR should not have been wrecked up like that. OK, BIG BROTHER is easier, but she had the D! Nothing else fits with -ID or -UD other than KID! And it really looked like to me she didn't even have BROTHER, which is just inexcusable, but if she did she really needed to talk it out...
This was by a fairly good margin a season worst episode, and I am expecting 3/10s at best by those who do ratings, maybe even the dreaded 2. This really showed me how far contestant quality has dipped, and honestly, it's just sad. Wheel is mostly nice on BRs this week, none of the new amounts show, 100 somehow shows up twice anyways, and it's all blown up with inadequate people who should just not be making the final cut.

R1: This was a very ugly round. Is this a record for the longest puzzle with no E's in it?
R2: I knew only with the colon that the puzzle would be formatted "(name) STARS IN (film/TV title)". Rare example where T__ isn't THE and a contestant falls for the H. Even though Dave had the $10K, Dianne still solved way too early. She should have at least went for the three M's.
R3: Wow...I figured the reason he spun again was because Pat brought up the Kia tags, but it was obvious his spin power wouldn't reach the other one. That was very...sweet of Pat to console him. This are the kinds of spontaneous moments that makes Wheel more entertaining (for casual viewers anyway) and shouldn't be edited out. Ironically, if Dianne spun a penalty or called a wrong letter, it would have been a "null" cycle. Do any of you think that even if that did happen, they would make an exception and leave it in for the sake of Taylor's moment there?
R4: And Taylor messes up again...I'm surprised he didn't seem to let any naughty words slip past the camera (though I thought I heard the "D-word" after his R3 fail).
BR: I'm sure literally millions watching had BIG BROTHER with RSTLNE. Once I knew it wasn't BIG, I was completely stuck. I could only think of BAD BROTHER and MUD BROTHER. Seriously, who says "KID BROTHER"? -_- Very unfair puzzle. So sad that it was the $100K again, plus we never saw the new envelopes. Now we'll never know which logo was used on the inside...
This show was just a mess, but R3 was so funny. I was glad that they left that kind of stuff in. They need to do it more often. I love how the audience cheered him on after that incident. Thanks to him, they were much more engaged today than Wednesday and Thursday (at least from R3 on).
If the removal of the canned audience sounds is in fact a permanent change going in order of tapedate, then we won't be hearing them again until the next America's Game week (4/23-27). I guess they really want to have them go out with a bang. After Taylor's second meltdown in R4 (after he called the H), they dubbed in the exact same audience groan that was used after the MILLIONAIRE/BILLIONAIRE fail the other day. And of course, it was also used during the BR. Why would they use it in a Speed-Up round though? That was just stupid. Every sound regarding the R3 fail was real, though.

TU1&2: Not very confident about these players... #1 came too close to failure.
R1: And to the unconfidence we add not one, but TWO repeated vowels! Tough luck that we missed the $2,500 wedge with the quintuple C, but that ends up being the high point of the round regardless. However, we still left a triple and pair uncovered...
R2: Good risk on the Mystery wedge with the first pick! I got this when the lack of E's was announced, and it's solved not long after for another $3,700. It's not the $10,000 prize though, and there were still multiples left - I think the bad R1 has these players gun-shy.
R3: Now THAT was a reaction to the repeated letter! Why can't players be this excited AND skilled at the same time? At least the triple C gets called before the end of the round.
TU3: This is a real bird, but it still sounds like the writers just slapped two words together.
R4: I have no words for this. Somehow, third place still leaves with $6,000, but the quality of the game was a lot lower than the scores suggest.
Bonus: I was thinking BIG BROTHER... calling the B would have helped. PAINFUL loss again, the second grand prize loss this week.
Overall: This show... I have almost no words. We had repeated letters left, right, and center and all kinds of other mis-steps. I'm giving it a 3/10, and boy did it deserve it. I'm tempted to go lower, but all the emotion showed that they were at least trying out there.

Wheel, I am disappoint. Apparently, "Big Money Week" didn't apply to either the front game or any actual big wins. Way to introduce three new amounts and not even show them off, guys. Also, to whoever did the recap, please use the players' names in score recaps instead of their arrow colors. I know it may sound minor, but using names makes it easier to follow. After Taylor's second meltdown in R4 (after he called the H), they dubbed in the exact same audience groan that was used after the MILLIONAIRE/BILLIONAIRE fail the other day. Why would they use it in a Speed-Up round though? That was just stupid. Maybe Taylor yelled an obscenity at that moment, causing the show to mask it? They apparently did the same with a Bankrupt some time ago.

I also thought that that was an unfair misleading bonus round puzzle. From the very beginning, I thought BIG BROTHER, then when the D came up, all I could think up was OLD BROTHER. But seriously, will we EVER get a $100,000 winner this year?!?!?! Two top prize losses in one week are enough, thank you very much!

Dianna mention about the birthday during the interview, which happen to be my birthday today. I hoping it would be a good show because of my big day. But instead, it's turn out to be the one of the worst gameplays I ever seen. Too much Bankrupts in round one, and Taylor got frustrated after calling some used letters. Here's the advice, always look at the letter board and don't go too rush saying it. I feel bad for him. And finally the show ended with $100K loss with the second time this week! Thanks for giving me a birthday gift, Wheel. I very disappointed.

I just couldn't think of Kid Brother myself. All I kept thinking was Big Brother. When the D came up, I didn't know what to think. As for when Pat opened up the envelope, again, I thought, one of the new amounts. He shows the amount, and I just go "WHAT?!"
Pathetic for Big Money Week. Might as well have been called Small Money Week! We had two contestants shut-out this week due to rough competition, and three bonus round losses, two of them being $100K losses.
But even with a $100K loss tonight, and the misfortune of having many letters called again not to mention the wheel's "mistreatment" towards Dave especially, one bright side I can think of for tonight's episode is that we narrowly avoided a third shut-out contestant for the week.
As for the new yet still to be seen amounts, I'd love for season 30 to have them permanently included.

Well, this episode was about as interesting to watch as a trainwreck, because that's what it was. (Though I do get mild perverse fascination out of watching trainwrecks...)
I really can't blame Dianna on the Bonus Round, though; I thought for sure it was BIG BROTHER, and the D completely threw me off. Turns out I went the wrong way age-wise. But really, two $100K losses in one week? Ouch.
For someone who really beat himself up a lot over the maingame, Taylor's $6K haul from the toss-ups isn't bad at all.

I just wanted to say that having to watch Taylor made the show less enjoyable for me.
I understand that people get nervous under the lights and maybe he made a few more mistakes than a normal contestant, but watching him constantly beat himself up about it ruined the whole show.
I wasn't even anywhere close on the bonus round, but BIG BROTHER makes tons more sense to me than KID.

Can't believe there were 2 $100K losses this week and none of the new amounts were hit... Count me in as another who fell for BIG, but I did get KID after the D popped up.
