Everyone can complain about Wheel's policy, but at least it's consistent with the few other times we've heard about puzzle re-dos. It's also not a guarantee to say Aysha would have won if Pat hadn't misheard.
I personally think having a tech win BR would be awkward TV, and a 2nd chance - with ample time to recompose yourself - is the best they can do in that situation. I've been noticing Pat not hearing as well more and more... I'm starting to think S31 might be both his and Vanna's last.

Of course, there are no guarantees. I agree with you on having time to recompose. It took all of five minutes to throw out the puzzle and come to a decision as to what needed to be done. At least 15 minutes would have been great, but again, I cannot complain because I am blessed with a great once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I can understand the WOF side of things because we were running behind schedule with our tapings, so they didn't exactly have a lot of leeway in time for making that decision.

MarioGSI was technically sitting in the audience, but as a contestant waiting my turn. Wow, why didn't you say so? Yeah, I've known for quite some time that they tape 3&3. Are you implying that the second audience was much better? I hope so. Guess we'll find out tomorrow. You said it. I doubt they did something like that with the opening span shot, but I'll check when I get the chance. Well, those respresentatives don't do a very good job since they fail to generate spin responses more than half the time. So the one in the peach-colored shirt standing at the blue podium? Also, welcome, Aysha, and great to hear your side of the story. So sorry that had to happen to you in the Bonus Round, but you put it best, you still got to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience that only a few hundred people get to do every year. How cool that we have two contestant members from the same (taping) week, too! ;D

Thank you! Yes, it is incredibly cool! I felt like all of us contestants for that week were a team and rooting each other on!

As I recall, the 2nd audience was more lively, and more well-populated.
On the right side of the pic there's a group of 3 people all looking to the right - i'm the right-most shorter guy in the blue shirt.
And Aysha.. i remember sitting in the audience watching you thinking you really got dealt an unfortunate hand. It's nice to hear your side of the story and that you bring such a positive interpretation. It really is all icing on the cake, right?
I did enjoy talking with all my fellow contestants - everybody was friendly and supportive. I will say that I never lost sight of the fact that it was a competition - I was never wishing anyone any ill - but I did keep my focus on my reason for being there: to win as much as I could! I'm have a bit of a competitive nature, even from the first moment I was in the room with the other contestants, I was sizing them up thinking "She seems really good, I hope she's not in my group of three". I think you'd be a bit naive if you weren't thinking along these lines.

It would have been nice to see it more heavily populated in the audience for sure. Glad the second audience was lively! And, thanks for understanding and sympathizing on my unique situation, but you're absolutely right! It's icing on the cake! I can understand what you mean that it is a competition. I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't glad that I got to the bonus round. I remember Wendy, the middle contestant in my game saying in between takes of how she secretly wishes us to go bankrupt. Who doesn't at some point or another? lol All in good fun I'm glad that we all got to leave with some cash and dignity I had the same wish with one of the contestants who was really good during our rehearsals and praying to God that she wasn't in my group too! I love hearing you all talk about your takes on your experiences that day! Thanks for sharing as well!

I personally think having a tech win BR would be awkward TV, and a 2nd chance - with ample time to recompose yourself - is the best they can do in that situation. I don't think it'd be awkward...but did Jim even acknowledge during the credits that there was an error? I agree with you on having time to recompose. It took all of five minutes to throw out the puzzle and come to a decision as to what needed to be done. I agree, five minutes is nowhere near enough time to recompose yourself. I'm glad you had a good time, and I'm certainly glad you won of your own merits instead of solely by the guaranteed prize, but I honestly don't think things should've ended like that...

Honestly Wario, you're taking an anecdote and trying to twist it around. There is plenty of long-term proof this season that the show is declining, so there's no need to slam them here - the puzzle and contestant quality is enough.
I personally think that Wheel has always had some type of "if we screw up, we have to replay the whole round", because in the maingame it's a multiplayer game, and it's impossible to say what would have happened without the mistake. On a pricing game on Price, it's more obvious with single player. And yes, the BR is single player, but you have to apply the same rules to all rounds at that point. The point is, these guidelines for handling errors may have been in place since even 1975 - I think a tech goof would have been saved by the geeks and put on Youtube by this point in time if it ever aired.
It also makes sense to me that the contestant must say the BR correctly to win, no shortcuts by having Pat goof up in your favor. So yes, it would be a cheap and awkward win, I don't see any question in honesty here.
