Anyone got a video capture card? I would like to put a couple newer pictures of the board and set on the Wikipedia article, since the current ones are from Season 24.

Do you use Windows? If so, there is a trick where you can take a snapshot of the screen. What you do is play the video, and when you have the right shot, press Ctrl+Print Screen at the same time. This takes the snapshot. Then all you would need to do is use a program, such as paint, and crop it. If you use something else other than Windows, I can't help you there.

I didn't want to take a screenshot from a video, since the quality wouldn't be as good. (By the by, I have a Mac and know how to take screenshots on it.)
A video capture card would be best, since it'd give a higher quality result and I wouldn't have to do things like crop it or cut out the YouTube playback bar.

Capture cards don't necessarily give a better quality product. Mine doesn't, especially since Wheel doesn't air in HD here...

Anyone got a video capture card? Yes, a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212. (Hurray for the analog hole!) I would like to put a couple newer pictures of the board and set on the Wikipedia article, since the current ones are from Season 24. I have all the reruns from 7/4 onwards DVR'd in wonderful 720p. Make a list of what you want, the episode it's in, and about when it happens in the episode; and I'll try to get to it when I have some time. But I have to warn you, I will be putting a watermark on it that says "WheelOfFortuneHistory.wikia.com" because I've found that some of the images I've uploaded to the wiki were stolen here, here, here, here, and here without any credit to me or the wiki. Also, the station in my area that airs wheel decided recently, for the first time in years, to turn the local station bug on during all of wheel and jeopardy (and strangely they only use the CBS eye for Price), so I'll either blur this or put a black bar over it. Do you use Windows? If so, there is a trick where you can take a snapshot of the screen. What you do is play the video, and when you have the right shot, press Ctrl+Print Screen at the same time. This takes the snapshot. Then all you would need to do is use a program, such as paint, and crop it. . . . Don't even bother with [Ctrl]. All you need to press is [PrtScn] Capture cards don't necessarily give a better quality product. Mine doesn't, especially since Wheel doesn't air in HD here... But even half decent capture cards should be able to at least get 480x640 video, and taking a look around the wiki shows that a lot of images are smaller than this.

Waaaaah. Those images don't even belong to you in the first place. This is ridiculous, and I think even you know it. It's one thing when dealing with artwork (which you do a great job with, and I fully back you wanting credit 100%...hell, I don't let people repost mine at all, even with credit!), but trying to assert rights over a screenshot of a copyrighted program to which you have no rights to is too far. It's called "fair educational use"...read it, love it, deal with it.

Superkingt: Take screencaps if you want, but per CU, please don't watermark them. You don't "own" the screenshots, so watermarking is pointless.
Also, I don't think Wikipedia allows promotional shots for the most part (like the first one Dylan showed), and the second one is way too small.

Cu's right. I got so caught up looking at that site and seeing that most of the images were taken from the wiki by the same person without credit, that I forgot most of the wiki's images were taken form YouTube without credit. Waaaaah. Those images don't even belong to you in the first place. This is ridiculous, and I think even you know it. Of course I know this, that's why I was going to put "WheelOfFortuneHistory.wiki.com" on them and not "Originally Uploaded by SuperKingT." (And just for the record, I'm not the first person to put a watermark on a screen cap from a game show, so when I wrote it I knew I wasn't completely out of my mind. EDIT: And my screen grabs come straight from the TV. Not through YouTube or some other middle man.)

The difference with the watermarked Golden Gallery images, though, is that those are not ordinary screengrabs, but rather, images provided to Marc and John by the show itself.
As for my capture device, yes, it can give me 640x480 video...but, again, I lack an HD feed because it simply doesn't exist here, and thus isn't exactly high-res. I could provide some SD screenshots no problem...but SKT's Hauppaugue is likely to give better ones.
